8 best AI email marketing tools for 2026

Updated:

Subject line generators and email writing assistants are some of the most common AI features in email marketing tools. These features have reduced the amount of time marketers spend creating email content. But we can all agree that their impact is modest at best in terms of cost savings and generating new revenue.

That’s why the best AI email marketing tools go beyond basic content generation.

Tools like GetResponse use AI to track customer behavior and send personalized product recommendations that are likely to drive sales. ActiveCampaign allows users to create entire campaigns from scratch using prompts.

MailerLite, on the other hand, offers an MCP server that turns AI apps like Claude and ChatGPT into your context-aware sidekicks.

I analyzed the top email marketing software solutions that claim to have powerful AI features. This article covers the eight best AI email marketing tools based on their impact on cost savings, generating new revenue, and saving time.

Here are the eight best AI email marketing software solutions.

1. GetResponse

The best AI email marketing tools deliver features that contribute directly to your company’s bottom line. That’s exactly what GetResponse’s AI product recommendations do.

Ecommerce brands like Eveline Cosmetics, Wurth MODYF, and Med & Beauty use that feature to generate new revenue.

Take the Eveline Cosmetics campaign, for example. About $7,000 worth of product recommendations were added to the cart within one month of the campaign. The brand used advanced automation and AI-powered product recommendations to engage customers and promote relevant products in emails and on its website.

The strategic product recommendations increased the average order value and overall ROI of the campaign.

But what exactly is the GetResponse AI product recommendation feature, and how does it work?

The product recommendation engine uses artificial intelligence to analyze your customers’ purchasing behavior, needs, and preferences. It tracks the items and product categories your customers view. The self-learning AI model, then, matches each customer with relevant products that they’re most likely to buy.

The recommendations are automated and deployed within your email campaigns and on your website.

Our research attributes up to 30% of sales to product recommendations. Strategic recommendations also increase the average order value by 33% and click-through rates on websites and email by 70%.

GetResponse also offers generative AI to help with content production. When creating a newsletter, you can choose between building the newsletter yourself or using an AI email generator.

GetResponse also offers an AI writing assistant as well as an AI subject line generator.

Building automations on GetResponse is straightforward. Our solution supports automations for both email and web campaigns. You can build an automation that welcomes back repeat site visitors, for example.

We also provide customizable automation templates to get you started quickly.

You can also create email and web automations from scratch using our drag-and-drop builder.

The eCommerce brand Daag connected its Shoper online store with GetResponse to execute a welcome automation workflow. The goal was to educate new subscribers and introduce them to the Daag product offerings. But one of the emails in the welcome series asked subscribers to complete a survey in exchange for a 10% discount code.

That email (and the discount codes) resulted in $17,000 in sales in just two days.

That’s the power of a well-executed marketing automation campaign.

Pricing

Paid plans start at $15/mo. That plan includes the AI email generator, AI landing pages, and unlimited autoresponders. It supports up to 1,000 subscribers and unlimited monthly email sends.

The Marketer plan starts at $48.38/mo. We recommend this plan to marketers because it provides all the features you need to scale your campaigns. It includes unlimited automations, advanced segmentation, abandoned cart recovery, email delivery scheduling, promo codes, and contact scoring. Unlimited web push notifications are also supported here.

AI product recommendations are available in the GetResponse Max plan. This plan is tailored for advanced marketing campaigns. It supports enterprise-level email marketing, multichannel marketing automation, and AI-powered product recommendations.

Assisted IP warmup, dedicated sending domain, SSO, and a dedicated customer experience manager are included in the Max plan. Contact our team to learn how Max can support your campaigns.

2. ActiveCampaign

ActiveCampaign made one of the biggest platform shifts of any email marketing software on this list to accommodate AI features. The company’s AI tool, called Active Intelligence, offers several AI agents that help with most parts of email campaigns.

Describe what you have in mind regarding your campaign to these agents. They’ll do the heavy lifting to create the campaign, while still giving you the creative freedom to change anything you don’t like.

The campaign builder AI assistant is one of those agents. The assistant allows you to import your brand kit from your website. Then, describe what your email message is about (in up to 1,000 words) and select the number of columns for your email layout.

ActiveCampaign AI campaign builder interface with brand kit import and email description prompt for generating automated marketing campaigns

The AI will proceed to generate your subject line, email header, and email copy. It also imports stock images from Pexels and adds them to your email. You can edit the campaign in the drag-and-drop email designer.

AI templates are also a thing on ActiveCampaign. When you sign up using your business email, the platform analyses your URL and pulls your branding assets. It uses your colors, logo, and other assets to create branded templates.

Marketing automation is the other area where ActiveCampaign’s AI agents have made a noticeable impact. Active Intelligence allows you to describe the email or marketing function you want to automate. It then creates the workflow for you.

ActiveCampaign Active Intelligence automation builder with AI-generated workflow showing triggers, conditions, and email sequences

You can edit the workflow in the drag-and-drop automation editor to add new triggers and customize the paths.

Of course, you can still create an automation workflow from scratch using the automation builder. There is also a bunch of predesigned automation workflows for key campaigns like abandoned cart, customer re-engagement, and customer service follow-up campaigns.

That said, Active Intelligence is still in beta. And though it works for most of the basic content creation functions, it struggles a bit for more complex duties. For example, I tried creating a GDPR-compliant automation workflow using a prompt, and it kept running into technical issues.

ActiveCampaign error message showing technical issues when creating complex GDPR-compliant automation workflows with AI

The AI automation builder is also quite slow, which can get a little frustrating. Picking and editing an automation template felt like the faster route.

ActiveCampaign also offers AI-suggested customer segments. The AI analyzes your customer data to identify trends and shared similarities within your target audience. It then suggests relevant audience segments to help you target customers more effectively.

Active Intelligence is also proactive in that it doesn’t just wait to be prompted. The AI analyzes campaign performance behind the scenes and recommends relevant actions that could boost performance. It can help you anticipate customer trends and create the right campaigns for optimal ROI.

Plus, you can interact with Active Intelligence to ask specific questions about campaign performance.

Other key features

  • Predictive sending deploys your emails at the best time for optimal engagement based on your recipient’s behavior and preferences.
  • The AI supports multi-channel campaigns across email, SMS, and WhatsApp.
  • Offers an MCP server to connect your ActiveCampaign account to an AI tool like ChatGPT and Gemini.
  • Provides an AI-powered CRM

Pricing

Starter is Active Campaign’s cheapest plan. It starts at $15/mo, but lacks key AI capabilities like generative AI and predictive sending. Still, it comes with the AI automation builder.

You must spend at least $79/mo on the Pro plan to unlock all AI features. That includes generative AI, predictive sending, AI automation builder, AI-powered site tracking, and AI-supported business goals.

G2 rating: 4.5/5

3. Klaviyo

Klaviyo is an AI-powered marketing platform that supports campaigns across email, SMS, WhatsApp, and push notifications.

Klaviyo AI (also called K:AI) uses customer data to create personalized campaigns, automation workflows, and even resolve customer queries.

Like Active Campaign, Klaviyo asks you to share your website URL when setting up your account. This allows the platform to analyze your business and its branding style. The Klaviyo AI uses insights from that analysis to start producing on-brand content and campaigns.

Clicking the Marketing Agent at the top right of the home dashboard activates the AI. It’ll analyze your business and suggest several campaign ideas. It also goes a step further and starts creating content for each of those ideas.

Klaviyo Marketing Agent dashboard showing AI-suggested campaign ideas with automatically generated content for email marketing automation

You can also access and use Klaviyo AI from the email editor. It helps with generating email content. You can prompt it to create an entire email or just a specific section.

Customer segmentation is another area that the Klaviyo AI has simplified. Tell the AI who you want to receive a specific campaign. It’ll analyze your customer database to identify the customers that meet your criteria and create that segment. This is one of the more compelling use cases of AI in email marketing that helps you create accurate customer segments faster and with less effort.

Lastly, AI helps with creating Klaviyo flows, i.e., marketing automation workflows. Chat with the AI to describe the workflow you have in mind. It will choose the right triggers based on your description and create the workflow for you.

Unfortunately, just like ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo AI is pretty slow when executing most tasks, like setting up campaigns from scratch. Picking and editing an existing template (be it an email or an automation template) is faster than prompting the AI and waiting for it to do the work.

The Klaviyo customer agent is another AI feature worth mentioning. The agent helps with basic customer support issues. It learns from your policies and the data you feed it to understand how your business runs and resolve simple customer inquiries, like return policies, delivery updates, and subscription questions.

For the questions it can’t handle, the AI agent pushes the conversation to a human agent. It also shares all the relevant context your customer support rep needs to handle the ticket.

That’s not all, though. This agent can also help with marketing. As it interacts with customers, it may recommend personalized products based on the specific conversation it’s having with customers. Your customers will be able to add these products to their carts directly from the chat.

Transform your email strategy with AI-powered insights

Discover how GetResponse combines AI recommendations, smart automation, and multi-channel marketing to help you create campaigns that convert subscribers into loyal customers.

Other key features

  • Klaviyo offers automation templates for all major marketing automation campaigns. The drag-and-drop automation editor is also very easy to use.
  • The Klaviyo data platform helps you get the most out of your customer data. But it’s sold separately.
  • Supports omnichannel marketing, where you can deliver a consistent experience to your customers across various channels.
  • The presence of Klaviyo Service means you can market and provide customer support services from one platform.
  • Klaviyo Analytics shares powerful insights into campaign performance

Pricing

Klaviyo is one of the more expensive AI email marketing platforms on this list because several key services are sold as separate add-ons.

If you’re only interested in email marketing, the Email plan starts at $45/mo for up to 1,500 active profiles. The package gives you 15,000 monthly email sends.

That plan gives you the marketing agent, generative AI for content creation, and predictive analytics.

There’s also a free plan if you have fewer than 250 active profiles.

If you want to run omnichannel campaigns, you’ll need the Email + SMS plan, which starts at $60/mo. It supports 25,000 emails and 1,500 messaging credits for SMS and WhatsApp.

Now, this is where Klaviyo can get expensive. If you need advanced marketing analytics to power personalized campaigns, you must pay $100/mo for the Marketing Analytics package.

Collecting customer reviews is also sold separately in a package called Reviews. That package costs $25/mo.

The data platform is the most expensive package yet, costing $500/mo.

If you want the Customer Agent that can answer questions and recommend products during customer interactions, you’ll need to pay $140/mo.

4. Brevo

Brevo offers various AI agents that can analyze and execute based on your commands.

The AI Marketing Agent helps with planning and executing marketing campaigns. This agent can create email content from scratch. It can also refine existing content and even personalize it based on customer data

In addition to content generation, the AI can analyze campaign performance to detect the best sending times. It then schedules your emails to be sent at the right time for the best open and engagement rates.

The AI also helps with segmentation. It uses real-time insights to place subscribers in the right segments. For example, it automatically moves a subscriber to a disengaged segment if they do not open your emails for a specific number of days.

Brevo’s Aura AI is available from the main menu, where it works as your assistant. You can access it on the email editor and prompt it to generate key sections of an email, like a button or a title.

Brevo provides AI features for sales and customer support functions. The AI sales agent can enrich your contact list with additional details to help with prospecting. It can also craft your sales emails and call transcripts.

Meanwhile, the AI conversation agent empowers your customer support team by producing conversion summaries and enhancing tone.

Besides the built-in AI features, Brevo provides an MCP server that connects your account to AI tools like Claude and Gemini through an API. It unlocks additional capabilities, such as talking to the AI to assess campaign performance, brainstorm new campaign ideas, create campaigns, and manage your contacts and customer segments.

Other key features

  • Supports multi-channel marketing across email, SMS, WhatsApp, and web and mobile push notifications
  • Provides a data platform that unifies all your customer data under one platform
  • Offers transactional messaging services
  • Includes live chat and chatbot tools

Pricing

The $8.08/mo Starter plan includes only the AI email generator. AI send time optimization is available on the $16.17/mo Standard plan. Meanwhile, advanced AI features like AI segmentation and AI data analyst are available on the $449.08/mo plan.

Sales and Customer Support tools are sold separately.

G2 rating: 4.5/5

5. HubSpot

HubSpot’s Marketing Hub provides several marketing tools, including an email marketing solution. The platform offers a bunch of AI features that can speed up your workflows, drive customer engagement, and potentially generate more revenue for your business.

The AI-powered email marketing solution might be a good option for any business already using HubSpot’s CRM. The AI pulls data from the CRM and uses it to power personalized marketing emails.

Beyond personalization, HubSpot’s conversational AI assistant is available within the email editor. You can engage the AI to help write your emails.  And unlike the AI assistants we’ve covered so far, HubSpot’s allows you to attach files and connect other apps you use. This gives the assistant even more context that helps it produce better output.

HubSpot also offers Breeze Studio, a marketplace where you can find AI agents for different functions. These agents are customizable, so you can tailor them to your specific workflows.

Prospecting Agent is one of the noteworthy agents from the marketplace. It tracks your prospects, watching out for buying signals. The agent can also research the prospects and create personalized outreach campaigns when the time is right.

Other key features

  • Powerful CRM that makes it easier to personalize email campaigns
  • Sales Hub allows your marketing and sales team to work from one platform and read from the same customer data
  • Data Hub unifies all your customer data. Customer data enrichment tools are also available.
  • The content supports content marketing campaigns through podcasts, blogs, and membership landing pages.
  • Commerce Hub supports billing and payments to help you close deals faster.

Pricing

HubSpot’s paid plans for the Marketing Hub start at $9/mo per seat. It supports up to 1,000 contacts and includes 500 HubSpot credits that you can use for the AI agents.

The plan offers simple marketing automation, email marketing, forms, and live chat.

For advanced personalization, omnichannel marketing automation, campaign reporting, and lead scoring, you’ll need the Professional plan, which starts at $800/mo for three core seats. Additional seats cost $45/mo.

HubSpot also offers an Enterprise plan that starts at $3,600/mo.

HubSpot is generally expensive if your only goal is AI-powered email marketing campaigns. You can get the same features or even more with dedicated email and marketing automation platforms like GetResponse, Klaviyo, and Brevo.

But if you want to do your email marketing, customer support, and sales from a single platform, then it might make sense to use HubSpot.

G2 rating: 4.5/5

6. Mailchimp

Mailchimp’s Intuit AI is very similar to the AI assistants offered by Klaviyo and ActiveCampaign. The AI helps with key email marketing tasks, including content production and creating entire campaigns and automations.

Intuit AI can generate entire emails based on your descriptions. The email designs are based on your brand colors, images, fonts, and logo.

The conversational AI is also available within the email and automation builders. You can interact with and use it to create campaign content or edit your automation paths. It also works behind the scenes and makes suggestions to improve your content.

It may suggest you make a certain section within your email more skimmable, for example. It can even recommend adding more links and CTAs and changing the images used in your emails. The suggestions are based on the AI’s analysis of best-performing campaigns as well as your campaign goals.

Intuit AI also tracks subscriber behavior to determine when they normally open and engage with your emails. It uses these insights to recommend the right day and time to send your emails for optimal engagement rates

Mailchimp has an AI-powered product recommendation engine. The platform lets you send emails with dynamic content. Dynamic content means the content that shows the recommended products changes based on the individual subscriber’s behavior and preferences. It can recommend relevant new arrivals based on a customer’s purchase history, for example.

Other key features

  • Supports consistent marketing across multiple channels, including SMS, pop-ups, paid ads, and social media.
  • Predictive segmentation helps with placing customers in unique segments based on potential future buying behavior.
  • The campaign manager allows you to manage campaigns across multiple channels from one platform.
  • Marketing automations support multiple triggers and branching points
  • Provides a website builder and SEO tools

Pricing

One major drawback with Mailchimp is that it’s generally expensive, especially as your email list and campaigns increase. And if you want to access the AI features, you’ll need to spend at least $20/mo on the Standard plan. Even generative AI features that help with writing email content are not available on the free plan or the $13/mo Essentials plan.

Email send time optimization and delivery by time zone are also available on the Standard and Premium plans only.

That said, the Creative Assistant that helps with designing emails is available in the Free and Essentials plans.

G2 rating: 4.4/5

7. Omnisend

Omnisend is an email and SMS marketing platform. It also supports web push notifications and marketing automation.

Omnisend AI is Omnisend’s solution to boring, repetitive tasks. The AI supports content creation as well as creative tasks like designing email campaigns. It creates on-brand emails through the Brand Assets AI, which allows you to import your brand colors, logo, and fonts. Your branding style is applied to all emails and templates. This is instrumental in reducing the amount of time you spend customizing email campaigns.

The Omnisend AI writer tool writes entire emails for you. It can also analyze existing email content and provide suggestions based on your preferred brand voice and email marketing best practices.

The platform offers a subject line and preheader generator. These can create catchy subject lines and preheaders from scratch or fine-tune your existing content to optimize open rates.

Like GetResponse and Mailchimp, Omnisend offers an AI-powered product recommender. The platform uses AI to analyze and understand your customers’ preferences and buying behavior.

That data is then used to recommend relevant products that are most likely to be bought. The products are added to individual emails automatically through dynamic content. That means you only need to create one email and include the dynamic elements. Omnisend’s AI will do the rest to ensure the right products are included within the dynamic content blocks.

Omnisend AI is present in the customer segment builder. Just describe to the AI who you want to target with your campaigns. It’ll create that segment in seconds.

The AI also identifies and groups customers based on how recently and frequently they buy from you, as well as the amount they spend. You can also use it to identify your high spenders and target them with special offers to encourage loyalty.

Other key features

  • Campaign Booster resends your emails to non-openers automatically with new subject lines.
  • The AI helps with churn prediction, helping you target at-risk customers before you lose them.
  • Also supports web push notifications and SMS marketing

Pricing

Paid plans start at $11.20/mo for 500 contacts and 6,000 monthly email sends. The plan doesn’t include the personalized product recommender, though. You must pay $5/mo to add product recommendations to your Standard Plan.

The other alternative is to upgrade to the Pro plan, where product recommendations are part of the package. This plan starts at $41.30/mo.

The personal assistant, AI subject line generator, and dynamic content blocks are included across all paid plans.

G2 rating: 4.6/5

8. MailerLite

MailerLite is a popular email marketing service. And though it has the fewest AI features of the services we’ve covered on this list, it does provide an MCP server that connects to different AI tools.

An MCP server, or a model context protocol server, allows you to connect an AI app like Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT to the MailerLite API. That connection allows the AI app to access your MailerLite data. As a result, you can chat with the AI app to ask it questions about your MailerLite campaigns.

You can ask it to show you the best-performing email campaigns based on a specific metric, for example.

It can perform actions too. For instance, you can ask it to resend a campaign to subscribers who didn’t open it.

The MailerLite MCP server offers various tools for:

  • Subscriber management
  • Campaign management
  • Segment management
  • Automation management
  • Webhook management

The subscriber management tool allows you to add new subscribers, update existing subscribers, pull the history of a particular subscriber, and get subscribers using a specific filter, such as active, bounced, or unsubscribed.

Basically, the tool makes it easier for you to find specific subscribers and manage your email list.

Alongside that tool are the Group and Segment Management tools that help manage subscriber groups and segments. The Group Management tool lets you search for and create a group of subscribers who meet a specific criterion.  You can also add or remove a subscriber from groups, update the group name, and delete entire groups.

The campaign management tool, on the other hand, pulls specific campaign data, helps you create new campaigns, update existing campaigns, schedule campaigns to be sent, and cancel scheduled campaigns.

The automation management MCP tool doesn’t allow you to create and deploy automation workflows. However, it lets you create automation drafts, delete automations, and get automation details.

Though MailerLite doesn’t have plenty of built-in AI capabilities, the platform itself is fairly easy to use and provides templates to simplify your work. It offers a drag-and-drop editor for building emails and automation workflows.

MailerLite drag-and-drop email editor interface showing customizable templates and automation workflow builder for email marketing campaigns

It also offers customizable templates for both emails and automation workflows.

Other key features

  • Offers a landing page and website builder
  • Provides an email verifier that validates email addresses
  • Offers signup forms for lead generation
  • Supports paid newsletter subscriptions and digital products like templates and ebooks.

Pricing

MailerLite’s AI writing assistant and smart sending are available on the high-tier Advanced plan that starts at $18/mo for 500 subscribers and unlimited email sends. API documentation is available across all plans, including the free package.
