How can contacts add themselves to my list?

The option to subscribe should be easily accessible on your website and other email marketing channels, such as social media profiles. Here’s a list of GetResponse tools to grow your email marketing database

Each form is assigned to a particular list. To create a form, select Forms and click Create form. Follow the steps then copy and paste the HTML or JavaScript code into your website. Contacts sign up for the list by submitting the form. Make sure forms stand out from the rest of your content, clearly visible from six feet away, so prospective subscribers notice it first. Include complete information about incentives to subscribe. Quick Tip: If you use WordPress, our plugin lets you embed a sign-up form in seconds.

Forms and popups

Use our newest editor to create responsive forms and popups that will help you grow your list. To build them, go to Forms and popups and decide if you want to embed a form on your page or trigger it by customer’s actions, like scrolling or exiting the page. You can choose among bars, full-screen popups, slide-in boxes and pop-up boxes. Design your form to your liking and set up display rules. Now, all you need to do is place the form on your website!
Note: it is possible to update contact’s details through a form created in the new Forms and popups editor. You subscribers will no longer see the error message saying they are on the list already.

Landing pages

Don’t have a website? No HTML knowledge? No problem! Use Landing pages to create an eye-catching web page, complete with a sign-up form visitors can’t resist. Go to Landing pages then click Create landing page. Apply your settings, choose a predesigned template, and customize it using the editor. Click Save & Publish, and your page is ready to go.

Website builder

Our website builder is another editor that will help you create an outstanding website without any coding knowledge. To convert the visitors of your website to subscribers, add a subscription form to one of your pages. While in the Website Builder editor, add the correct type of the form and customize it to your needs. You can add and edit the fields, set up success view and change subscription settings, like the list the new contacts should be added to, opt-in or autoresponder settings.

Social media

Social media sites have become effective places to collect email addresses:

  • publish your newsletter and RSS-to-email on your Twitter and Facebook accounts. First, integrate your social media accounts under Integrations and API. In the Settings step of Email Creator, turn ON those integrations at the bottom of the page. Your messages will be published automatically on the selected social media sites, with a Subscribe button to enable social contacts to subscribe.
  • add social sharing buttons to your messages

When you create a webinar, you receive a unique link, which you can share in social media, place on your blog, or send via email.

Web archive page

Promote your web archive page — a newsletter directory where visitors can read your newsletters and subscribe to your lists

Conversion funnels

When you create Conversion funnels, you can add people to your list by having them sign up first through a form on your landing page. That can be done by going to Conversion funnel >> Create funnel and choosing the funnel you need to create (Sales funnel, List building funnel or Webinar funnel). More on creating different types of funnels can be found here.

Paid ads

Another way to grow your list is by Google Ads Lead extension. How? By adding a subscription form to an ad created in your GetResponse account. Before you begin, you will need to create Google Ads account and then integrate it with GetResponse. Now, all you need to do is create an ad in Tools > Paid ads > Create ad > Bring new leads > Search ad with lead form. Remember to agree to Google Terms and Conditions inside your Google Ads account.
