What are the SMS sending limits for self-service accounts?

This article applies to self-service accounts only (Starter, Marketer, Creator). If you have a MAX account and would like to send SMS messages, please refer to the dedicated guide here.

SMS sending in self-service accounts comes with a set of monthly, payment, and sender-related limits. These limits are separate from the volume and pricing rules that apply to GetResponse MAX accounts.

Sending and payment limits

LimitDetails
Monthly sending volume50,000 SMS per billing cycle
Payment value per top-up1,000 PLN
Number of top-upsMax 5 per billing cycle
Payment methodOnly the payment method assigned to the account (credit card, PayU, Google Pay, Apple Pay)

Example: If you top up your SMS balance with just 1 PLN five times in one billing cycle, you’ll reach your top-up limit and won’t be able to add more funds until the next billing cycle starts — regardless of how small each top-up was.

A low balance warning will be displayed once your account’s SMS balance drops below 50 PLN. This gives you time to top up before your balance runs out and sending is interrupted.

Sender name requirements

Every SMS sender name must be approved by our Compliance Team before you can send messages. There’s no default sender name available, and TEST cannot be used as a sender name.

The sender name should not be vague; more specific names are recommended (for example “GetResponse rather than “Marketing”).

Important: The SMS sending and Add funds features remain disabled on your account until your first sender name has been verified by Compliance.

Restricted destinations

Due to additional sender registration requirements in certain countries, self-service accounts can’t send SMS messages to the following destinations:

Australia, China, Czech Republic, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Vietnam, India, United States, Canada, Brazil, and Japan.

Note: If your SMS marketing strategy depends on reaching contacts in these countries, consider whether a GetResponse MAX plan better fits your needs.
