How have GetResponse Courses been adapted to EAA?
With the European Accessibility Act (EAA) taking effect on June 28, 2025, digital learning experiences must be made accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. At GetResponse, we’ve taken steps to ensure your online courses and learning content meet these accessibility standards.
What GetResponse has already implemented
We’ve introduced several updates in the Courses tool and GetResponse Hub to support accessibility.
Video & Audio Accessibility:
- Ability to add captions to video lessons.
- Upcoming: automatic transcriptions for videos and audio content.
Lesson Builder Enhancements:
- Support for alt text on images so screen readers can describe visuals.
- Full keyboard navigation support across interactive elements (dropdowns, action menus, star ratings, audio players, etc.).
- “Skip to content” button added in the course player to improve navigation for screen reader users.
Platform Interface Updates:
- Revamped course and newsletter listing view in the GetResponse Hub to ensure accessibility.
- UI updates to contrast, font readability, and inclusion of labels for graphical elements.
What you still need to do
To ensure full compliance and deliver inclusive learning, here’s what you should do:
- Provide accurate captions for all video content.
- Add alt text for every image in your lesson content.
- Make sure your course text uses clear, readable language.
- Use logical content structure (headings, lists, proper formatting).
- Avoid using color alone to indicate actions or status.
- Test your course interface with a screen reader or keyboard-only navigation.
