Alignment

(in regards to email authentication): In “strict” alignment, the domain used for SPF or DKIM authentication must exactly match the “From:” domain for the message. For example, if the SPF or DKIM domain is cs.getresponse.com, the “From:” domain must also be cs.getresponse.com. Similarly, if the SPF or DKIM domain is getresponse.com, the “From:” domain must also be exactly getresponse.com.

In “relaxed” alignment, the domain used for SPF or DKIM authentication must merely match the organizational domain of the “From:” address for the message. For example, if the SPF or DKIM domain is cs.getresponse.com, the “From:” domain can be getresponse.com or any subdomain of getresponse.com.
