Marketing automation is based on an intuitive if-then-logic.
IF certain conditions exist
Filter, define or limit
THEN take a specific action
GetResponse Marketing Automation searches your marketing list to find the condition you specify and then takes a certain action. Communicate with your audience with even greater precision using a tool called filters.
Here’s a quick rundown of your options for defining conditions, actions, and filters.
Conditions
GetResponse Marketing Automation makes setting conditions as easy as point and click. Here are the conditions you can use to define your target:
Scoring
Use scoring to define the group of contacts that you want to address by their score value.
Subscribe
You can narrow your search to those who subscribed to a certain list or used a certain signup method.
Message open
Set this condition to find those who opened an email — one specific message or any message.
Message link clicked
Use this condition to find those who clicked a specific link. Optionally, set a time limit on when they clicked the link.
Tag value
Set this condition to find contacts you’ve tagged in the past.
Purchased
Follow-up with your customers and use this condition to engage with them immediately following a completed purchase.
Cart abandoned
Track if an online cart has been abandoned and encourage a completed purchase.
Visited URL
Learn if a contact has visited a specific URL and keep track of their interests.
Message sent
Use this condition to target specific message recipients with a chosen action or filter.
Custom field changed
Trigger an action when you or your contacts update a given custom field.
Special Event
Let your contacts know you are thinking of them on any of their special days. React to birthdays, subscription anniversaries, purchase dates, and more. Reach out before, after, or on the exact day.
Added to pipeline
Set this condition to track when a deal has been added to a specific pipeline and automate some conversion activities.
Actions
Now that you’ve used conditions to find specific contacts, it’s time to take an action:
Send email
This action sends a specific email to the contacts you targeted.
Scoring
This action adds (or subtracts) a specified number of points to the scoring of the targeted contacts.
Tag
This action tags the targeted contacts with a specified tag value.
Move
This action allows you to move your contacts from one list to another as a result of the interactions with your workflow.
Copy
Copy your contacts from any chosen list based on your subscribers' preferences and actions.
Custom field
Assign or remove custom fields to contact profiles.
Wait
Use this action to define the amount of time to wait before taking the action. Example: for those who meet the "Message open" condition, wait two days before sending the next specified email.
Copy to workflow
"Copy to workflow" lets you add your contacts to another active workflow. This means that your contacts can complete more than one workflow at a time.
Move to workflow
Use "Move to workflow" to remove your contacts from one workflow and add them to another.
Remove
Automatically remove contacts from a list, workflow, or your entire account.
Add to pipeline
Add sales-ready contacts to your CRM pipeline automatically and convert those deals into customers.
Delete from stage
Remove CRM deals from a specific stage if they should no longer be present in the pipeline.
Move to stage
Automatically move deals between pipeline stages based on their behavior or activity.
Filters
Want to sharpen your targeting even further? Use filters to narrow the group of subscribers that you want to talk to.
Range
Use this filter to limit the segment to a specified range. For example, you could target the first 50 contacts who open a specific message.
Amount
Set this filter to define the number of contacts who receive the action. Example: send a gift certificate to the first 10 email openers only.
Dynamic segment
Use this filter to target specific contacts in your workflow. You can create dynamic and workflow-specific segments based on contact data.
List
The "List" filter allows you to target specific subscribers in your workflow based on the list they are in.
Stage
Fine-tune your marketing and sales messaging by filtering CRM deals based on their presence, or lack thereof, in a specific pipeline stage.
