Implix, Parent Company of GetResponse, is Changing its Name
Email marketing company retires the Implix name and will go forward as GetResponse
October 1, 2014, - Wilmington, Del. – Implix has changed its name to GetResponse, effective October 1, 2014. The move coincides with the October anniversary of GetResponse’s 16th year in business. The company’s flagship product, a leading email marketing platform, will continue to be called GetResponse.
In 1999 when GetResponse was in its infancy, I felt the need for a platform where I could grow GetResponse and develop other ideas,” said GetResponse Founder and CEO Simon Grabowski. “Thus Implix was born, a place where we could build products to solve our own challenges.
The company later brought these products to market, each with its own brand. These included an ad tracking service (HyperTracker), a website-building service (WebsiteWizard), an expiring-domain-name finder (BizMint), an e-book creator (eBookGold), a web-conferencing platform (ClickMeeting and ClickWebinar) and others.
The strongest performer turned out to be ClickMeeting/ClickWebinar. The company hints that at some point they may spin this platform off as a separate company. But for now, ClickMeeting and ClickWebinar will continue to operate under the GetResponse umbrella. The other technology brands will continue to operate in maintenance mode with no plans to develop them further.
“The symbolic name change marks a change in our philosophy,” said Simon Grabowski. “It signals that, from now on, we will focus exclusively on GetResponse, investing 100% of our energy in making GetResponse bigger, better and more successful.”
The name change will have little effect on partners, vendors, affiliates, and employees. The company has hired 97 new employees this year, for a net total of 221 employees, with 21 positions still open for hire. All vendor relationships will continue unchanged, with invoicing and payments processed under the GetResponse name. Customers will be notified of the change in billing name from Implix to GetResponse.
The company describes itself as an organization of “technology geeks”. Founder Simon Grabowski wrote the code for the first version of his email marketing program. Today the company has attracted some of the most innovative technology professionals in the industry.
