# Why do my emails sometimes end up in a spam folder?

Deliverability depends on many factors, including message content. We cannot guarantee that your message will not be added to the recipient’s spam folder.

Here are the most important steps you can take with the [Email Marketing Tool](https://www.getresponse.com/features/email-marketing) to avoid having messages classified as spam.

1\. Instruct your subscribers to add getresponse.com to the _safe senders_ or the _white list_ inside their email program.

2\. Review the content of your message to find out whether anything may cause it to be classified as spam. GetResponse provides a convenient _SpamScore check_ tool. It can be accessed when you create or edit messages.

SpamAssassin™ is an external application maintained by the Apache Software Foundation, and GetResponse does not provide support for the application.
