# Tag contacts based on score

**Tag contacts based on score** lets you identify your contacts based on their **score**. This [automation](https://www.getresponse.com/help/automation.html) will automatically check the score of your [subscribers](https://www.getresponse.com/help/subscribers.html) and tag them accordingly. This will help you segment your contact list based on their **score**, which will allow you to, for example, check which subscribers are engaged with the content that you are sending.

Here’s what you’ll need to configure the elements and publish the template as a workflow:

* [tags](https://www.getresponse.com/help/how-do-i-make-use-of-tags.html) – they will let you distinguish between contacts interested and not interested in your offer based on their score.

Configuring the template
------------------------

All greyed-out elements need to be configured. You can click an element to open its **Properties** tab which will be displayed on the right side.

1. **Subscribed via** element will start this workflow. You can configure it to start based on a subscription to your account, a specific list, or via a specific method.
2. **Score** element is predefined to “wait until score is greater than or equal to 10”. Condition is set to wait 30 days. If your contacts won’t get at least 10 points after that period, they will be sent through a red path. If they receive 10 or more points within 30-day period, they will be sent through a green path.
3. Then, based on their scores, you can assign specific **tags** to your contacts to determine which contacts are active.
4. Click **Publish** when you’re done setting up the template or **Save and exit** if you want to finish editing the template later (it will appear as a draft on the **Manage workflows** page).
