# How to add attachments to my messages?

With GetResponse, you can easily add files to your messages. Whether you prefer attaching files the traditional way or uploading and linking to them for easier sharing, this guide will explain both methods to help you share files quickly and efficiently.

How to attach files to your message
-----------------------------------

To attach a file to your message:

1.  Access the message you want to attach a file to and scroll down to **Design and content**.
2.  Click on the **Attach file** option.

3.  A **Files and images** screen will be displayed. You can choose one of the previously uploaded files or use the **Add files** option to upload a new file from your computer.

4.  After adding the attachment, its name will be visible in the **Design and content** section on the newsletter settings page. You can also detach the file using the **Remove attachment** option.

You can upload files of up to 500 KB using this method.

Currently, you can add a maximum of 5 files.

How to share files via direct links
-----------------------------------

Another way to add an ebook (or any attachment) is to use **direct links**. To create those links, you’ll be using your [Files and images](https://www.getresponse.com/help/what-is-files-and-images-and-how-do-i-use-it.html) section.

1.  Go to **Profile > [Files and images](https://app.getresponse.com/file-library)**.

2.  Click **Add files**.

3.  Drag your file, select it from the computer, or import it from URL.
4.  Choose to which folder the file should be added.

5.  Click **Add**.
6.  Hover your mouse over the 3 dots (vertical ellipsis) at the bottom of the file and click **Copy URL**.

How to hyperlink my button or text in the message
-------------------------------------------------

When you have your file uploaded and URL copied, you can proceed with adding this link to your message. You can hyperlink it to your button or part of the text, to do so:

1.  In the message editor drag and drop the **Button** element.

2.  A menu will appear on the right side when you place or click on your button. Choose the **Web address** link type and paste your copied file link in the **URL** section. In this menu, you will also be able to adjust button text, color, style, and more.

To hyperlink a part of the text:

1.  Highlight a word or part of your text and click the **Chain** icon on the top bar.

2.  Choose the **Web address** link type and paste your copied file link in the **URL** section.
