GetResponse Split Test has a new face and a new name: A/B Testing. Now you have even more possibilities and accuracy than before. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a science professor to figure it out. It’s intuitive, clear, and delivers precise results — your best tool for making sure only top-performing messages reach your audiences.

We aimed make it easy to test various solutions and strategies, so we integrated A/B Testing into Email Creator. Since email marketing involves more than just content, you can now test any one of the 5 aspects of your newsletter almost automatically: content, subject line, from field, day-of-week, and time-of-day to send your email.

How to get started? Just follow these simple steps:This gives you countless elements you can test – check out different CTAs, footers, image layouts, template types, message copy, timing, pricing offers and more. Changing small details can help you get noticed in a crammed inbox.

 

Test your send time....

No need to look for a new menu option. Just start creating a newsletter as usual. In the Settings tab, click to enable the A/B Testing function and continue. Then create various versions of the email to test – it’s intuitive and simple.

Is your newsletter ready? Then let’s move on to the email lab! Click the Next button and choose which email element to test. It’s only a few mouse clicks away. You can include up to 5 versions of message content to find out which offer, CTA, color scheme or graphic work best for your audience. You can add an existing email as an A/B Testing version, or create a new one.

Once you’ve picked the ingredients for your email experiment, let’s take the next step and set the conditions. You can perform A/B Testing with up to half of the contacts assigned to the campaign. The more carefully you choose your recipients, the better – this assures you the highest-quality testing results possible. Remember to include a significant number of recipients so the results actually reflect customer preferences!

The recipients in your test will be equally divided between the test versions. Or you can set the proportions using our clear, easy-to-use slider, with different colors representing each newsletter version:

We also give you an option to choose the factor that’s more important to your test — open rate or click rate. It’s up to you!

Now specify the test duration. Depending on your needs, you can run the test for as long as 14 days! We’ll notify you when the test is finished by sending an automatic message to the email address of your choice, so that you can review results and act immediately.

When the test is over, the remaining contacts in the selected campaign receive the best performing message automatically – quick and simple. Or for more control over the final message, choose the manual option by ticking a box in the settings.

Every experiment delivers results. The outcomes of A/B Testing can be previewed in the Manage Newsletter panel. You’ll see complete stats for each version delivered, clicked, and opened, as well as the Improvement rate, expressing the advantage of the winning message compared to the others.
