GetResponse joins Email Sender and Provider Coalition
Simon, 02 Jan 2006
We are proud to announce that GetResponse is the first autoresponder and newsletter hosting service that has joined the premier email service provider organization Email Sender and Provider Coalition (ESPC).
At GetResponse we are committed to increasing email deliverability by the continuous development of mail-out efficiency, by maintaining close relations with all the major ISPs and Email Service Providers (ESPs) and adapting a firm stance against spam and other types of email abuse.
Our efforts to increase email delivery rates and ensure that our customers' mailings reach their destinations have just teamed up with a strong group of industry leaders.
Since 2002, the ESPC has been cooperatively seeking and creating solutions to spam and deliverability concerns through a combination of legislative advocacy and technological development.
Among the current ESPC projects involving GetResponse, "Project Lumos" has received a high priority. It is an authentication and reputation architecture developed to eliminate spam by holding senders accountable for the mail they send. "Project Lumos" implements true sender accountability and transparency by requiring that senders verify their identity and adhere to best practices, and then monitoring their performance.
As a result, consumers will be better able to trust those organizations that have complied with such best practices, while ISPs and ESPs will become more efficient at filtering those messages from organizations which do not adhere to such standards.
With the ESPC membership, GetResponse will maintain the highest possible email deliverability for its users and protect them the threat of spam and unscrupulous email marketing practitioners.
The ultimate goal of GetResponse and other ESPC members is to establish and preserve the standards and policies that reward responsible email marketing and promote the long-term growth of the industry.

The Email Sender and Provider Coalition (ESPC) was formed to fight spam while protecting the delivery of legitimate email. The ESPC members have recognized the need for strong spam solutions that ensure the delivery of legitimate email and have been very active in the war against spam.
The Email Sender and Provider Coalition is a cooperative group of industry leaders working to create solutions to the continued proliferation of spam and the emerging problem of deliverability. Our membership provides volume mail delivery services to an estimated 250,000 clients - representing the full breadth of the U.S. marketplace. The ESPC is currently working on solutions to spam and deliverability concerns through a combination of legislative advocacy, technological development, and industry standards.
