| Hi Paul here, I'm new to this, and when I first signed up a few minutes ago, it asked for me to give my address for the CAN-SPAM law, now I don't want to put me home address, there so every time I send an email, bam you know where I live, what is another option to put in there? Would a P.O. Box work for that? What did you do? |

Hello Paul,
An address is required in order to stay in
compliance with the Can-Spam law. Yes,
a PO box is acceptable.

| By putting my address there does that actually mean that my home address shows up on all of my outgoing autoresponse emails? If so I'm with the last person I don't want everyone out there to have my home address. What do I do if I don't have a PO Box. Is there a way just to show City and State? |

Hi Paul,
It you read the ruling from the FTC, they do require a physical address
for all commercial email. So, your choice will be your actual home (or business address) OR a P.O. Box.
A city/state alone will not suffice per the FTC. It has to be an actual physical address where mail could be delivered.
And, yes, if you use your home address it WILL be readable to everyone who receives your emails.
However, there are many places you can get P.O. Boxes for around $9.95 a month. Put "cheap P.O. box"+YOUR CITY in Google, and you should be able to get a listing of places near you.
Regards,
Debbi |
