Large number of unconfirmed subscribers

I have a fairly large number of people that have not confirmed they wanted the follow up information from a capture page. I tested my confirmation e-mail and it did not have a SPAM rating. Is it normal to have a high number of unconfirmed subscribers or am I doing something wrong?

Hello Jason,

The reasons why the subscribers have not yet
confirmed may be various. There is no golden
rule that would ensure the number of unconfirmed
subscribers stayed low.

The number depends on where your subscribers
come from, whether they were imported or added
themselves, whether you have personalized your
confirmation message or not.

To your confirmation message you may add a
personal message up to 300 characters in which
you may remind your subscriber about you and
your service.
