Broadcast API

I wish you had an API from which I could send a customized broadcast to my list from my database.

Also, I wish that there was a way to customize the template for the RSS blog announce. I use RSS but it isn't a "blog," so this feature would be useful to me, but only if I could customize the template to reflect articles from my site instead of "blog."
