I would like to add my ezine subscriber list to my get response list. Can I do that without having to reconfirm my list? How do I add such a huge list? If someone knws how to do this and if it is OK to do so that would be great.
Thanks and bye for now.

Hello,

We require all imports to be confirmed. There is a 2,500 emails
daily limit for every account. On importing, a confirmation
message is sent automatically. This is to stay compliant with
anti-spam regulations. The verification email can be customized
so your subscribers can easily recognize to which list they
subscribe. Once confirmed, an email address is placed on your
mailing list.

We offer a very easy to use import tool located at the main panel
>>Subscribers>>Build Subscribers List>>Import.

I just uploaded my list from constant contact and out of 1700 individuals who were previously on my list, now i have a total of 13?? that have reconfirmed.

I just got a message from you that of all of those that I was sending emails to from my previous service now they sent spam complaints due to the confirmation message stating that they are signing up to a list hosted by getresponse.

I'm not sure what to do with this, but based on this message from the email confirmation that must go out and I have no way to modify this on an import:

"We have received your request for a
subscription to a mailing list maintained by GetResponse email marketing service."

This tells me that my readers, take one look at the first few lines and the first thing they think is..."who is getresponse?" This must be garbage..

Second question I have is i took the time to also customize the domain, however the domain link has characters in it that also appear to the average person to be a "dangerous" link to click on. Here is the link where they have to confirm: And I would appreciate some input on what can be done with this, as If I saw this link I would definitely not click on it either..it doesn't tell me where it's taking me.. not would I trust a link that get's generated in that manner...and that's the major point...

EASY 1-CLICK CONFIRMATION:

Are there any solutions to this, because this looks extremely ugly don't you think?? And who knows what kind of damage this just did to my list from here on out..

Hello,

The only way possible to import subscribers to
your campaign, without confirmation, would be
if you have the full opt-in information for these
leads, including name, email address, IP address
and date/time of sign-up?

In regards to the link your provided me, this is
for your thank-you page. Please see what I
received below, when I clicked on it :

Subscription Processed

Thank you!

Your subscription has been confirmed and your
email address jeffreyherrera@bellsouth.net has
been added to our mailing list.

Thank you for subscribing!

I have the same problem.

How do you import if you do have those details ? I have those from my former autoresponder service.

Hello Liz,

Please answer the following questions and forward
this information to gr-abuse at cs.implix.com :

1) What methods have you used to build your list?

2) When listing different methods, please provide an
approximate percentage of signups generated through
each method.

3) How have you been generating traffic o your sites?

4) Have you ever purchased a list or "leads" from on-
line or offline lead/list brokerage companies? If yes,
which ones, and how big were the lists?

5) Have you ever harvested or scraped email addresses
from websites using any automated solution/software/
script?

6) Do you have any sort of proof of consent/permission
from your subscribers to receive your mailings? i.e. date
& time of each subscription, IP address of the subscriber,
etc...

7) What is the percentage of your confirmed and un-
confirmed subscriptions?

Also, if you could send me a sample of your subscriber's
information, I would appreciate it.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Best Regards,

I was notified that there was a template in the options section that works a lot better for this scenario.

Can I make a suggestion though?? It was not blatantly obvious that you had this template for transferring over to a new service. So maybe to try and prevent any other individuals from making the same mistake I made. Which was somewhat devastating to say the least.

You may want to consider placing some verbiage when lists are imported for the users that they should consider defining this template or maybe if there is some way to create a few prompts when your users go through the process to import a file that asks them if they are transferring over from a previous service and then have that template set on the campaign by default for the import.

At least something in big and bold and maybe red to remind people that when importing and using 'double opt in' features that the templates that go out for confirmation are critical to the sucess of the import.

Right now the system allows someone like me to inadvertently make that mistake and proceed without even knowing what sort of mistake i just made.

So big lessons learned on my end with your system. your level of customization and capabilities are definitely good. But here is an example of damage (1700 folks from my previous service results in 20 confirmed opt ins lol) who knows what they think of me know, i'm almost afraid to ask.

OK enough said, and water under the bridge. Hopefully I can prevent this from happening to anyone else.

Hello,

It is mandatory that all imported subscribers
be sent a confirmation email. The personali-
zation of the confirmation message, will remind
your subscribers of who you are. ONLY if you
have all of the above requested information,
will the Abuse department consider importing
without a confirmation message.
