Let’s imagine you want to sum up an important event for your business or publish useful data from your latest research. At the same time, you want to avoid releasing a boring article that could drown amongst other similar publications. What can you do? Create an infographic. This popular marketing tool lets you post not only attractive and attention-grabbing content but also boost its effectiveness.

Sounds exciting, but sometimes it’s easier said than done. What if your company doesn’t hire a graphic designer and doesn’t have a sufficient budget for freelancers or external agencies? Don’t worry, your help is at hand – you can make an infographic on your own, no budget required.

We checked 5 tools you can use to create a high-quality infographic – quick and easy. Here we go!

Do I really need infographics?

The answer is simple – using infographics you can present not only data and statistics but also various schemes and processes. Of course, an infographic can’t act as a replacement for detailed reports or analyses, but it definitely lets you explain certain topics to your audience in a clear and user-friendly way.

What’s more, the latest research shows that infographics generate a 12% higher website traffic compared to other content forms. More importantly, it shows that data presented as an infographic are much easier to remember – all thanks to visual representation that proves more appealing and memorizable for a human brain.

Taking all these facts into consideration, it’s no wonder that the use of infographics in marketing has grown by a couple of hundreds percent. As you can see from our Resources we use them quite often here at GetResponse, too.

So without further ado, here are five free infographic software solutions you can use even if you’re not a designer.

Canva.com

If you are looking for a cheap (or free) design tool anyone can use effectively – here it is.

In my opinion, it’s the most convenient free design tool. The interface is very intuitive and user-friendly, which is combined with a large number of various templates and images.

Canva is completely free – only particular graphic design require an extra charge. Even these are affordable to any marketer – their prices start at just 1 dollar. But don’t worry if you’re on a really tight budget – the selection of free design elements is more than enough to let you create the infographic you want to see on your blog on squeeze page.

Interesting enough, Canva offers not only free infographic designs, but you can use it also for designing ad banners, business cards, documents, advertisements, posters, presentations or social media images.

Easel.ly

When you’re just getting started with infographics – which is quite possible if you’re reading this post – this tool will give you great basis for creating your first infographic.

The signup process may leave you a little puzzled (after you log in, you find yourself entering the WordPress panel), next steps are much clearer and easier to follow. The site offers quite a few neatly designed and visually pleasant templates to work within the easy-to-use editor. Feel free to select preferable shapes, colours, icon placement or graphic elements included. The image resource is divided into a few categories to facilitate the search, plus you can upload and use your own images. That’s what you call a great start!

However, you should remember that Easel.ly has limited design options and it won’t be able to fulfill all your graphic design dreams. That’s why I recommend adjusting the infographic template to the amount of data and concepts to be presented.

This tool certainly won’t amaze you at first sight – the layout and interface are not as impressive as those of the competitors. Still, it’s worth looking into – you’ll definitely be satisfied with the variation of templates and images to choose from. Pick and mix any images, icons and logos you wish.

What’s interesting about Venngage – you can download your infographic in one of the most popular file formats, PNG and PDF.

Visme.co

With thousands of visually appealing infographic and presentation templates to choose from, Visme is a great option for graphic design software.

The signup process is quick and easy. Like with the other tools I’ve mentioned before, you can sign up with Google, Facebook, or your email address, and you’ll be taken directly to the design dashboard).

You can use the tool for free, although there are some limitations. If you’d like to create more than five projects or remove Visme branding, you’d have to upgrade to one of their paid plans.

The tool offers a rich library of images, icons, graphic elements, data types, and more for you to add into your graphics template, as well as over 100 fonts and premade color themes.

The dashboard is intuitive and easy for beginners to understand. Simply pick your data visualization type, edit your colors and data information, and the charts or graphs update accordingly.
