ZIPP
Review by Carlos Ramos
Richmond Theatre (On Tour).
In March: Epsom, Swansea, Newbury, Guildford, etc...
www.ziptherevue.co.uk
Written by Gyles Brandreth and directed by Carole Todd, the
cast is Andrew C. Wandsworth (Don Giovanni, Les Miserables),
Shona White (Mamma Mia, Les Miserables), Amanda Symonds,
Stefan Bednarczyc and the founder and director of the company
- Gyles Brandreth.
It is the compilation of the most outstanding musicals of our
time, delivered in a humorous key that ends up being
hilarious, with the guidance at all times of Gyles Brandreth
that tells anecdotes and interacts with the audience in a
very friendly and familiar way.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the musical is to be able
to perform the complete works of Andrew Lloyd Webber in 60
seconds! along with the extremely beautiful voice of Shona
White and the restrained yet comical performance of Stefan
Bednarczyc as the musical director of the show.
Zipp! has rythm, enthusiasm, participation, romance, and
nostalgia. It was the Most Popular Show in the last Edinburgh
festival, so you can be assured of an entertaining night in
the theatre. Now on tour throughout the UK, will be heading
for NY later this year.
AND FINALLY....
It's the second
week of K-Pax
Thanks to all those who have popped along to see K-Pax, it is
much appreciated and a delight to see so many real faces that
I can now put to email addresses and j-pegs. It's certainly
bringing it home to me how many of the actors in the network
actually use this service regularly and it has put them in
touch with real opportunities to advance their careers. I am
delighted with that so thanks for your feedback and support
and I hope you enjoyed the show.
For those who haven't come along to see K-Pax yet, come along
this week before it's starts to get full. The reviewers are
starting to come along and first feedback is very positive
indeed. "A very convincing psychiatrist" I was told by one, I
hope she prints that.
If you send an email to kpax@uktheatre.net you will get an
auto-reply with all the details and background, including
directions, prices and times. Go on, come along and have a
laugh.
