Hi Friend
Well, where do I start. I'm
exhausted already and it's not even lunchtime on
Saturday. There has been a significant increase in
activity recently from all around the country, in all
areas of the world of entertainment. I've just got
through the backlog after a few technical hitches.
I found out that if you have a pop
up or ad blocker, it blocks areas of uktheatre.net so you
may need to add it to your "allow list". I also couldn't
delete any mail and found that when your DELETED ITEMS is
large (8000 in mine), certain versions of the software
stop working and give you an error message designed for
engineering scientists ! Someone told me that
they don't get any of these types of problems on their
APPLE MAC ! Hmmm......
There's now lots more ways to find out more and get
involved and even tell others about your performance. The
Downloads area has lots of press releases and pictures.
The News and Headlines have the current stories hitting
the headlines and the What's On section now includes
dance, comedy, film and gigs, as well as your favourite
theatre shows around the UK.
DANCE - News on Dancing on Ice, Dance UK's Dance
Manifesto and Richard Alstons Dance Company.
STANDUP - Details of Frank Skinner
and Richard Herring tours.
GIGS - A feature on Indiana Gregg
who is touring with Lemar and coming your way soon.
FILM - Details of Adam Sandlers latest film Reign Over Me
and Client Eastwood's back in the directors chair with
Letter from Iwo Jima
THEATRE - Lots of new pictures in
the gallery, tons of press releases, more reviews, new
videos, and lots of new articles and reports on what's
new around the UK.
As the traffic increases, I will be
introducing new developments to the site and newsletters
so that you can choose what events you'd like to hear
about and which you don't. As you know, the UK
Theatre Network is run by myself with YOUR support. It
doesn't have multi-million pound backers and hundreds of
staff like Myspace, YouTube, Bebo (though one day it may
well do).
Send me an email if you have any feedback, or offer of
support, or would like to advertise on the network,
become a content partner, collaborator, or even offer
sponsorship. Without you there wouldn't be a
network ;-)
Many thanks and have a great weekend.

The Genius of Kenneth
Branagh
|
Probably one of the
most accomplished – if not the most accomplished –
UK actors of this generation is Kenneth Branagh. He
has appeared in countless movies, television
projects as well as in theatre and established for
himself a reputation for his craft that is, bar
none, the most admired and most multi talented
performers in the country.

Christopher Eccleston –
The actor’s actor
|
One actor who is
creating a lot of buzz for himself especially among
science fiction fans is Christopher Eccleston. The
British actor has recently appeared in two highly
popular science fiction television series – Dr. Who
and Heroes -- that has made TV viewers finally take
notice of an actor that may be one of the best in
the world and before these breakout roles was only
well known among cinephiles, art film lovers and UK
theater goers.

Getting your Kids
Interested in Theatre

It’s difficult to win
kids over to the wonder of theatre. They’re used to
TV, video games, million-dollar Hollywood
blockbusters. Why would they want to sit through a
play about a dead king, especially when they’re not
allowed to eat popcorn?
