UK Theatre Network - Scorching Hot Entertainment

  • Welcome back to UK Theatre Network. Thanks for continuing to read these newsletters and sharing them with others.

As I was in Cannes last week and took my time to see St Tropez, Port Grimaud, St Maxine and popped into Cannes for the day to meet some potential distributors for Making It In Hollywood. The weather was great and it's also great back here in London this weekend.

I'm looking for more theatre reviewers, this time in Edinburgh. If you are interested in getting involved, please drop me a note.

Look out for a regular "News With A Web Agenda" slot on Sky News next Friday at 7pm, and "Doug's Radio Blog" is streaming online each Saturday lunchtime and in FM around the West Of Scotland on Nevis Radio.

If you use Social Networking, you should check out my article "Using Social Networking" in this month's Film And Festivals Magazine (p13-14) - http://www.filmandfestivals.com/

And don't forget for great ticket offers for the West End, check out http://www.lovetheatre.com/uktheatrenet

    Have a great week.

    Singin' in the Rain

    Review By Louise Winter

This was a very apt production to see in the light of the weather this week and, unlike what was happening outside, had a very uplifting effect on the mood of the audience!

    Encore

The Customs House, South Shields, Tyne & Wear

    Review By Steve Burbridge

It isn’t often that a theatre show can take you from the comfort of your seat to the sidewalks of New York City, on to the mystical land of Oz, and then place you in the poverty-stricken streets of Liverpool, but that’s exactly what the sensational singing group, Encore, do in their brand new show – and all before the interval, too!

    Jolson & Co – The Musical (King's Theatre, Glasgow 18 - 23 May 2009)

    Review by Cameron Lowe

Jolson & Co – The Musical serves up the expected dish of lively jazz and swing music but also hints at a personality darker than the famous face the performer presented to the world.
