UK Theatre Network - Now in Dublin and Wellington

July 20th, 2007 at 8:38 pm

Hi there Friend

That was the week that was

BAFTA screened Die Hard 4.0 this week and it was thrilling. I jumped out of my seat on a few occasions. The stunts are fantastic, it's a must see on the big screen.  This week I was interviewed by Screen International which went well, I'll let you know if anything is published. I also got in touch with Kevin Spacey's agent again to confirm they had received the script - "we've been discussing it in the office this week and we will certainly be in touch", said John Fogelman's assistant.  I also had a chance to meet Old Vic New Voices' Rachel Stephens, as she's keen to get the word out in UK Theatre Network about the opportunities coming up there.

The news is getting out about the network and I was delighted to receive a phone call from the Theatrical Management Association who would like to tell UKTN members more about their events.

UKTN Now in Ireland

I am very pleased to announce that the UKTN are now reviewing in Dublin.  Sharon O'Donnell is theatre and film graduate from Dublin and has performed in various plays around Ireland. She contacted me via Bebo and her colleague Ciaran have already agreed with Abbey Theatre in Dublin to do regular reviews.

UKTN Now in New Zealand

I am also please to say that Jenna Whitecliffe has taken up the challenge of theatres in New Zealand and Downstage Theatre in Wellington will be her first assignment.

Showcase

I bounced around the idea of a showcase in London in September and I received a great response. I am waiting on feedback from Soho Theatre as a potential venue and 4Talent may be interested in supporting our endeavours. More on this next week.

"Little India" - Script Reading

In preparation for Little India getting off the ground in October, we will be holding a script reading in London, near London Bridge, for 4 or 5 British Asian actors (m/f). Let me know if you know someone who may be interested.

Have a great weekend.
