UK Theatre Network - Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining
January 3rd, 2009 at 4:38 amMorning
Happy New Year to you and I hope you had a good time over the festive season. I had a new strategy to work out after the major loss of service before Xmas. I'm pleased to say that I have sourced a new software platform from a British company, listed on the stock exchange and run by senior execs from the gaming industry. It's still in Beta at the moment, so it's good to be in at the start of their development. I would much appreciate it, if you would support me by spending two minutes to register now. You can always come back later and upload photos and add the detail, but register now and you'll see that it's got all the same facilities, plus more. You can publicise your events, setup groups, post to the forum, chat with others, comment on walls and add friends. There's also a magazine section where our carefully selected voluntary reviewers will publish their articles. All the things you'd expect from a fresh new social networking site.
I've also taken the opportunity to split the theatre and film networks to allow them to develop in their separate ways.
UK Theatre Network - http://www.uktheatre.tv
UK Film Network - http://www.ukfilm.tv
For those with uktheatre.net websites and email, these will continue in their existing format and there are links on UKTheatre.tv to give you direct access. I'll be leaving the uktheatre.net as it is for a month before I repoint that domain to the new platform.
The new platform is more expensive but I've stopped the subscription payments, as the small bit of income from Youth Auditions and West End Tickets should cover it. As the new fees are also usage based, I will look for advertisers/sponsors to cover any additional cost.
So, thanks again for your patience and support. I hope you'll register today and help me rebuild the best independent film and theatre network.
As they say, "every cloud has a silver lining", and this is reflected in the choice of images on the new sites.
