UK Theatre Network - Blogging Fantastic

Hi Friend
If you are a regular readers of these blogs, you will know that
one my favourite films is ALMOST FAMOUS based on a true story of
writer/director Cameron Crowe, who was a young journalist from
Rolling Stone magazine who followed some rock bands in the 70s. I
am often quoting "It's all happening" which was a remark Kate
Hudson said in the film. Well, this week, it did indeed all
happen.
It started at the BAFTA's. It was hard work. I was on my feet
since 8am, planning, preparing and finally keeping sharp with
questions to film the final scenes of the documentary about
MAKING IT IN HOLLYWOOD.
I was lucky enough to catch Kate Hudson in shot and had to think
quick to get her to react to the camera. She looked fantastic in
my viewfinder with her golden dress shining in the excellent
lighting on the red carpet. She laughed at my question and gave a
brief answer direct to camera. Then winner of the supporting
actress award, Tilda Swinton, stopped to have a chat and again
she had fun with the question I asked. Funnyman Eddie Izzard had
the crowd in laughter as his wicked sense of humour came out to
another question I asked. The BBC guy next to me was also
successful in getting some quick fire answers from Ricky Gervais,
Jeff Goldblum and others.
The following day, out of the blue, I got an offer from BBC
Scotland to be a judge on a scriptwriters panel in June. Then I
got an offer for 9 months of IT security work in London, which
will now allow me to fund the final parts of the journey this
year.
The fantastic news continued with an invite back on Sky next
Wednesday and finally, as if my heart was beating fast enough
with all the excitement, I got accredited again for the Oscars
next weekend.
My flights are booked and I'm back at the Renaissance Hotel where
Kate Winslet, Ellen Degeneres and Celine Dion stayed last
year.
The adventure continues.
In the meantime, here's some links to find out more about the
entertainment coming your way.
