UK Theatre Network - An important message to visitors and members

December 20th, 2008 at 4:13 am

Good morning

I'm not happy. In fact, I am quietly seething.

I learned only 2 minutes ago, that the data centre used by my U.S. service providers had a fire on the 17th December, and the main database and it's backup, have been destroyed. The core application service is currently being rebuilt, but as you will notice from the site, a significant amount of customisation, development and data has been lost, as well as every review, article, event, video and image uploaded over the last 8 years.

Just quite what I do next remains uncertain. Not to be too dramatic and defeatist, it could be the end of the service, as to recover and return the service to the best theatre and film site in the UK, would take more effort and time than I have at this stage in my life.

All I can say is that, I will assess the situation, over the festive period and let you know in the New Year. In the meantime, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone who has supported the service, published reviews and been part of the success of UK Theatre Network.

My radio blog will still be going out live at lunchtime each Saturday on Nevis FM. Here's the streaming link online:
