Website Update (June 2nd) and following your dreams

  • Never believe in any negative thought or feeling that would have you believe, "There's no way!" Always remember instead that real life is a secret and vital flux of possibilities rising up from the Ground of what seems improbable, much as a spring flower manages to bloom in a once-frozen field."Guy Finley

Even though I don't always share personal things with you, the above quote really resonates with me right now. For many months now I've been trying to live my "dream" of bringing joy and happiness to others through spiritual stories. Mostly that has been through this website and newsletter, but lately I've also been working on my ebook "How to Write Short Stories for Spiritual Growth."

I have been trying to make it the best it can be, but there's been several times when I really believed that nobody would be interested in the topic. I would hear that inner critical voice say to me, "Most people like to read stories. Only a few people in the entire world actually want to write them!"

The thing is, I know how powerful a person's spiritual growth can be enhanced through writing... I've seen this with those of you who share your stories with other readers at Spiritual-Short-Stories.com, I've seen it with my wife Laura, and in the last year I've experienced it within myself.

Yet sometimes that critical voice still pops into my head and temporarily tricks me into thinking that my dream is small and pointless. I am grateful that Guy Finley allowed me to preview his "The Essential Laws of Fearless Living" book (available June 10th) because that quote above is really helping me right now. Guy reminds me that this part of my dream, the first ebook I've personally written, is that spring flower blooming in a once-frozen field. Guy reminds me to set that critical voice aside for a little while and live my dream... to make my dream become a reality.

I share this story about myself with you, and Guy's quote, knowing that I'm not alone... knowing that there's a part of you that sometimes feels this way and doubts whether your greatest dreams can become reality. My dream is becoming a reality, and yours can and will too. All you have to do is sprinkle a little bit of water on it, let just a tiny bit of sunshine through, and trust that nature will work with you to do the rest.

The hardest part for me was taking the first steps. So ask yourself - What do you need to start towards living your dream? What is one tiny little step you can take, today, that brings you one inch closer to living the ultimate life you truly want?

    Write it down.

Then do it. After you take that first tiny little step (it could be as small as writing down what your dream is), find one more tiny step you can make (that could be as simple as telling a friend about your dream). Then do that, and continue this process of taking tiny little steps until one day... as miraculous as it may seem, you'll be living the life of your dreams... or perhaps the dream of your life.

If you need some ideas or want some inspiration, then visit the ebook website because several of the inspirational authors who are helping me live my dream are also sharing lots of free spiritual growth gifts with you. At that website, I'm also going to be giving you a couple of free chapters from my ebook, as well as having a few contests where some of you will even win free copies. :)

Now, for those of you who want to know what the new website updates are, we have the last two stories from Guy's "The Essential Laws of Being Fearless," Guru and the Fur Coat, and Haunted House. Andy Echevarria shares with us "March Forth, a story of learning how to live after death, Keith Beasley shares his 3rd story "Poor Celain, and BK Surat Singh Ayer his 3rd story "Forgiveness of the King.

There are also four parables from unknown authors: Is Man Free?, Masks (a personal favorite of mine), "Killing Truth", and "Sufi and the Inn."

I have reviewed Gregg Braden's new book, "The Spontaneous Healing of Belief," and the movies "Heaven Can Wait" and "Curtain Call (the Spiritual Cinema Circle main feature for April).

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and that you also have a wonderful day! :)
    Warmest wishes,

P.S. I've recently been reading the book "The Dream Giver" which has really inspired me to keep pursuing my "dream" that I shared with you. I haven't finished yet, but I do plan to review it in the next newsletter update.

P.P.S. I'd also like to personally thank Zura Ledbetter from CreativeClown.com for recommending the book to me! I am very fortunate to have met her during this pivotal time in my life.
