  Jason Mann here and today I wanted to bring to your attention
  something you need to be aware of. Especially if you live in
  California.
  
  California is trying to get a bill called AB1643 passed which
  calls for mandatory spay and neuter of dogs. Now on the surface
  some folks might support this bill. I mean after all it will
  help cut down on BYB bred dogs right? That's not entirely
  true. The bill calls for a mandatory spay and neuter of
  ALL dogs over 4 months of age. Unless of course you get
  a permit.
  
  Show/working dogs? Sorry you have to spay/neuter them.
  
  My stance on this issue is straight forward and as clear
  as ever. I support responsible breeders who do NOT sell
  dogs to any Joe Blow that has the cash. I support
  responsible breeders who breed for working dogs.
  
  I tend to lean against show dog breeders because they are
  breeding for appearances and lately have been showing a
  great lack when it comes to temperaments.
  
  However this bill has a huge impact on all dog owners
  and especially those people who have responsible
  breeding programs.
  
  This is not only for Pit Bulls but for all dogs over the age
  of 4 months old. This is a huge step in the anti-dog/PETA
  movement to stop dog ownership.
  
  I mean think about it, if California passes this law that
  means companion dogs in homes will be on their way to
  extinction, unless of course you have a permit.
  
  Yet another bill that fails to address the source of the
  dogs in shelters. People.
  
  There are a lot of myths about shelters that are spewed
  out of the HSUS and animal rights organizations mouths
  on a daily basis.
  
  Most of them are flat out lies or half-truths to get you to
  send money or to
  
  support these organizations.
  
  I say NO to bill AB1643 and I say NO to animal rights
  organizations that are trying to eradicate our dogs from
  our lives because they feel they should run
  free in the streets.
