1. OUTLOOK: Stocks had posted bigger gains in early trading but lost steam as the session wore on. Cisco, Hewlett-Packard and Dell were among the big tech decliners. The reason is that Intel is scheduled to report earnings today. Its outlook is extremely important. However, the market is likely to continue to avoid a big selloff, as many people remain underinvested, with plenty of cash on the sidelines and no better place to put in than in stocks. U.S. futures point to a lower open.
