Journey On!
"That
Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that ye, being rooted and grounded in
love, May be able to comprehend with all
saints what is the breadth, and length,
and depth, and height; And to know the
love of Christ, which passeth knowledge,
that ye might be filled with all the
fulness of God. Now unto him that is able
to do exceeding abundantly above all that
we ask or think, according to the power
that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in
the church by Christ Jesus throughout all
ages, world without end. Amen." Ephesians
3:17-21
"At
the first session, someone spoke about
the sin of the fear of man. Fear of man
has always been a problem for me, but I
don’t remember ever hearing it classified
as a sin! The next morning I was reading
my Bible in the living room, and one
other girl from my team was seated on the
far side of the room doing the same
thing. God suddenly laid on my heart that
He wanted me to confess the sin of the
fear of man—out loud.
"So
I whispered a prayer of confession.
'Louder,' He said. I tried again, still
in a whisper. 'Louder!' 'But she’ll hear
me!' I answered. It was a struggle that
lasted several
minutes."

"I’ll
shoot straight with you: I’m
ridiculously afraid of many things, and
many of them are fairly small. I
don’t let my fear show, but it is so
there. Lame right, afraid of what
people will think or do IF they found out
I was afraid of anything.
"Anyways,
lately, I’ve been stuck on I John 4:18.
So, the verse says 'There is no fear in
love; but perfect love casts out fear,
because fear involves punishment, and the
one who fears is not perfected in
love.' Honestly, I usually just
read the first part of the verse, but I
wanna get to thinkin’ on the last
part."

"People gazed at the
spectacle open-mouthed realizing that
they were totally helpless and unable to
do anything about it. It was a giant
column of flames shooting 700 feet in the
air. It was coming from a ruptured gas
well.
"An
eye witness said of the fire’s blowout,
'The inferno gave a roar so deafening
that it reached into the core of every
man’s soul.' They knew of only one man
who might be able to solve this crisis.
So they appealed to him to come and help
them.
"The
heat was so intense that while he was
still five hundred feet away from the
blaze the wheels on his car caught fire.
He surveyed the situation and designed a
strategy to put out the fire, which many
saw as a hopeless situation. If he
failed, experts calculated that the fire
would burn for over a hundred years...
Finally the day came. On May 28, 1962, he
put his plan into action and, to
everyone’s amazement, the fire was
extinguished. How did he do it?"
To find out how this terrifying blaze was
put out and discover the incredible
application it has for us in our
Christian lives,

Life-Changing Opportunities:
S.T.E.P!
"Skills Training for Emergency
Preparedness
(STEP) is a four-week outdoor
adventure program for young women ages 15
and older. This challenging program is
designed to build confidence on
individual and team levels, in
preparation to respond to life’s
emergencies, while learning to put their
trust in the Lord. STEP will help enrich
each young woman in spiritual and
personal disciplines, physical fitness
and emergency skills that will prepare
them to fulfill the calling God has for
their life." To Find out more about
S.T.E.P take a look at their
blog!
The Next S.T.E.P course is coming up on
May 31st!
So you know a little about what S.T.E.P
is, but here is a story of how God used
it in the lives of a girl who desperately
needed to know how much she meant to her
Heavenly Father!
"One
night nearing the end of STEP, tears
streamed down my face as I poured out my
heart before the LORD. Inwardly I reeled
as vivid images flashed through my mind,
like a preview of a slow-motion picture
playing scenes from my childhood. It
seemed I had often struggled with low
self-esteem....I had come to camp with
high hopes and bright expectations of
doing well – of excelling in many of the
activities. However, by this time in the
third week of camp, my anticipations were
faced with reality. I was not doing
well...."
This
is truly a beautiful testimony of God's
grace.
