Hundreds of letters poured in, starting about ten minutes after I sent out the newsletter and continuing to trickle in even now. Every one touched me. Many touched me very deeply. Some made me cry. A few made me laugh. One or two scared me (too weird). Every one was appreciated. I read them all at least twice. I would've put up more, but during one of our famous Florida thunderstorms, lightening zapped my computer and mortally wounded the hard drive. If you're one of the dozens of people who never got the response from me that you were expecting, now you know why. I lost your email before I could get back to you. (If you still want to ask a question, please write back.) Even as you read these words, my hard drive sits - scared, alone, and charbroiled by Mother Nature - on some computer nerd's desk - waiting patiently to divulge it's inner workings. So I can reclaim all those emails! Like a clam on dry land that's being pecked and poked by a hungry sea bird... We'll see how it goes. *** So what do you think about hurricane Katrina? My mom lived in New Orleans for about 30 years, until she passed away two years ago. I visited many times and still have many fond memories of the town. My sister used to live there, also. Until a few days ago, that is. Now it's a little uncertain. She got out safely, but who knows what her house looks like now. If you pray - like I do - then I hope you're praying for all the people there. Another sibling, my younger brother, has his own unpleasant situation to deal with here in Florida. He was sentenced to ninety days in jail for what I consider a very minor offense. He's bored to death and would LOVE it if you wrote him a letter. From now on, I won't be writing much personal stuff. Instead I'll just send out an article I've written. Look for it at the beginning and the middle of each month. I'll try to keep it concise and to the point. My most recent article is about depression as disease. I guess I'm allowed to change my mind. From now on all my personal ramblings will be on a blog, which will not be set up for a week or so. I'll let you know when it's ready. I'm going to be making some emotional healing techniques available as audio files. Sort of like guided meditations that you just follow along and listen to over your computer.
