Hi
Friend
A number of start-ups have
been asking my advice lately about
getting a website done, so I thought
I would share with you my warts and
all views on what I wish I had known
about websites when I was just
starting out.
If I had known this stuff I
would have literally saved thousands
of dollars and been much more
successful sooner in my
business.
This week we also look at
working mums - tips to retain mums
when they go on maternity leave as
well as mums as a niche
business.
THIS
WEEK
What
I Wish I Had Known About Websites
When I Was Just Starting
Out
This is my personal view of some
of the most important things I wish I
had known when I was just starting
out with websites. Stuff like
80% of all web designers don't know
what they are doing but will charge
you a fortune to do it. I also
include links to some of the best
resources I have found on the net
over the years.

Women on Maternity
Leave
I was also asked this week how to
retain women going on maternity
leave, so I share some of my tips to
help keep your great
employees.
Business of the Week
- Cafe
Mama
Another niche
business this week in the highly
competitive coffee industry - Cafe
Mama in Newmarket whose niche is mums
with young kids.
Blog Post of the week:
And they are surprised small business
makes wages
mistakes
OK - this was more of a rant
rather than a post about how 50% of
all small business cafe and
restaurant owners audited in Central
and North Qld were not complying with
workplace laws.
