Hi
Friend
This week we
are looking at niches and mavericks.
People who do things differently from
the pack and in doing so create a
thriving
business.
We
start by looking at Inch Wide Mile
Deep niche businesses. People who
only serve a very small portion of
the potential
market.
We
then look at how to manage those
mavericks in your team - they may be
brilliant but ...
Our
business of the week is perhaps my
favourite niche business as it just
serves Geeks.
Finally we look
at the impact of the colour red in
your marketing.
THIS
WEEK
Inch Wide Mile Deep Niche
Businesses
You
don't have to go wide to get more
customers. You can narrow down your
search to very specific groups of
people. In this article I look at a
range of really unique businesses I
have discovered over the past year,
and how you can go about finding your
own unique niche.

- Dealing With the Unique
Thinker
If
you have a Maverick or lone wolf in
your business it can be a poisoned
chalice. They can totally
revolutionise your business - or they
can send it into a tailspin. Here's a
few ideas to help you manage your
maverick.
Business of the Week -
Think
Geek
This is my personal
favourite of all niche businesses as
it caters just to geeks, nerds and
other cubicle dwellers. Check out the
range of amazing things they stock to
give you a great idea of how to cater
to a niche
market.
Blog Post of the Week:

Marketing
Science has
been checking out what happens when
people "see red". If your business
using predominantly red in your
branding or marketing you may want to
read this blog post.
Have a
