[Sorry, something wrong with the system, it doesn't attach files, so we upload it here http://bit.ly/HalfDateDawahBooklet ]
One of your HalfDate sisters lost her father last month. We obtained her permission to share her story with you, so we may take lessons from this incident and pray for her father.

wa'alaykumasalaam warahmatullah wabarakaatuhu,
Jazak Allahu khair, Thanks Sister.
I am not sure if I told you both, but my dear father passed away about 5 weeks ago, on the 2nd of July, May Allah have mercy on him, forgive him, protect him from the punishment of the grave and grant him into Jannah, Ameen.
I just went home to see how he was, and I found him passed away upstairs in the room. As soon as I saw him all I kept repeating was Inna Lillahi wa Inna Elayhi Rajioon, and "If this is what you wanted Allah, I accept it" .. and asked Allah to have mercy on my dad...
I thank Allah for everything, and I thank Allah for having such a great dad, who did everything for me and my mom and my brother - he took care of us, and fed us, clothed us, and loved us. He just recently took us to Umrah in March,we came back in April, and he passed away in July. May Allah accept our Umrah, and accept it from my dad, and all he asked for.
Qadr Allah - death is inevitable.. and we must all go one day - I think the death of my dad is one of the biggest reminders I will get in my life.. I miss him, but I know he was only mine on loan - we must all return back to Allah, and leave everything behind and only take with us our deeds, inshaa Allah I will strive to do much good, and strive for this deen - for the day I too shall leave. I will strive to do good within the shariah for my dad,and pray Allah accepts from me and gives the ajr to him. Ameen.
May Allah have mercy on my parents, your parents and us all - and grant us to be with our Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu A'alaihi Wassallam) in the akhirah,Ameen Rabil Alameen.
Jazak Allahu khair..Sister Qamar

Here are some good news.
Last Ramadan, Sister Qamar with hundreds of Muslims like you collectively completed a Dawah Booklet project.
Alhamduilllah, the project was a success and SISTERS Magazine published a story about it (http://bit.ly/HalfDateDawahBooklet).
So, we hope that her father will receive continuous rewards from this project, as the Prophet (peace and prayer be upon him) said that the children [and their good deeds] belong to the father. [Hadith collected by Abi Dawud]
May Allah forgive her father and make it easy for the family.
-Abu Medjool
P.S. May Allah reward SISTERS magazine and the writer for sharing this story.
