Interesting stuff | stories of giving | 6 degree of separation
-
Assalam Alaikum,
Want to share these interesting stuff with you.
A dialogue:
A: Just curious, why you picked to donate $7.29?
B: Because that's all I could afford without making my
bank account empty.
More interesting stuff:
-All early donors are from Australia :)
-A laid off mother of three donated $20, a brother who lost
his job gave $40 (please make dua for them)
-Youngest donor doesn't even have a bank account
-Biggest contribution was $250 from Pennsylvania. After
emailing out last time, a brother from California gave
$400, later a donor from Texas gave $500. Now, the biggest
donation is $700 Calgary, Canada
-Two teachers are going to ask their students to write
cards for the refugee families (we are still looking for 4
more groups to write support cards/letters)
-As of now, 17 US states have donated, waiting for the rest
Here are some touching quotes:
"I've been planning on donating for the past 10 days but
this hadith really encouraged me to do it now!!!!!
Prophet (salAllahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam) said "Sadaqah
never decreases wealth!" A Student

"I'm currently an unemployed student! ALhamdulilah I
gave $40 to this great cause. I hope HalfDate can match :D
I remember when our family were refugees, how many generous
people helped us with everything: clothing, food,

3- This Sunday 900 AM (Los Angeles time), we will have a
live program where you can ask questions or talk to some
