So the farmer became poor again.

Yikes! I realize I've been doing that. As soon I dip into any of my long term investments or retirement funds for "emergencies", then I am literally killing my "Golden Goose". Recently, I've been implementing Harv's "Jars" method and putting money into different accounts to save for the different things I want--including putting 10% of my take home salary into one that I've labeled "Golden Goose". I now know that if I want to ever be financially f.r.e.e. that I must never, ever, ever kill my "Golden Goose".
