WHAT TO DO ABOUT CANDIDA YEAST?

---------------------------------------------------------

Q: My name is Julie and I am 26 years old. I had a terrible
problem with Candida overgrowth, and suffered from a lot of
symptoms from Category 3. I was desperate for a change, and
decided it was time..

On Feb. 25th, I stopped taking Birth Control, and on March
4th I bought a Candida Cleanse Kit by Kroeger. In
conjunction, I stopped eating all dairy, sugars and yeast
products. I have read so much info, and I just want to do
it right. It is going on day 12 and I am worried that I am
not getting enough calories, and don't know what to eat so
my body won't go into starvation mode. I drink wheat grass
and carrot juice, and lots of water. I am also taking
Garlic Pills. I eat a lot of chicken, turkey and some
fish. I make great salads too.

Can you please help me understand what I should be eating,
& how often? I need a specific diet to follow that is the
best for my body. For example, are there any carb foods
that are ok? (Example, organic brown rice cakes? Soy Milk?)
I really need some sound advice. I want to cleanse my body,
but I don't want to starve it. ( I am 5'5 and weigh 146
lbs.) Sincerely,

Julie C Las Vegas, NV

Julie, any anti candida diet consists of mainly vegetables,
proteins and essential fats. You can read about what to
remove from your diet just about anywhere on the net or in
any books, but what it comes down to is like I said, eating
vegetables, proteins and essential fats. To this, we then
add the pro-biotics (acidophilis) to establish a healthy
intestinal flora and I then use Sunrider foods for their
cleansing and nutritional properties so essential to good
health.

Your question is about getting enough calories on an
anti-candida diet. When you eat enough protein in the form
of lean chicken, tuna or red meats (if you choose), have
your vegetables with this and increase your intake of
essential fats, you should have no problems meeting your
caloric needs for the day. Each tablespoon of Udo's Oil
(www.rightfatdiet.com) contains 14 grams of fat or 126
calories (9 calories per gram of fat). Eating 5 or 6
tablespoons per day would net you 600 to 750 calories.
This along with the protein and vegetables should serve you
well.

I would certainly not advise any rice cakes as they're
converted to sugar too fast. I would never advise them to
anyone unless they're eating them with a heavy protein
first which would help slow the digestion and hence slow
the release of the sugar. Frankly, I see no reason for
anyone to ever eat rice cakes. Rice cakes were part of the
"low fat" fad which just lead to a higher rate of obesity.
Low fat products simply mean you'll gain fat.

As to your question as to how often to eat, I recommend 5
meals a day for women and 6 meals a day for men. Take your
daily food allotment and split it out over the day with
meals every 3 hours or so.

As for carbs that are ok, lets talk about starchy and non
starchy carbs. Starchy carbs are rice, potatoes, pasta etc
while non starchy carbs are vegetables. You can eat all
the vegetable carbs you like, just stay away from the
starchy carbs right now.

I have a number of clients who have done my Sunrider
Anti-Candida blast program with great success. It consists
of a pro-biotic designed to withstand the digestive acids
so you get full use out of all the pro-biotic, Cleansing
beverages Calli and Fortune Delight, our Stevia product
called Sunny Dew, a whole food fiber product called
Fibertone, Dandelion Root and a Chlorophyll product to help
with digestion, the colon and nourishing the blood.

Congratulations on taking a stand on your health and taking
action. Once you find that your Candida is under control,
you'd want to continue to supplement with the pro-biotic
and then slowly begin to add in fruits and starchy carbs
again if you choose. Udo Erasmus explains that the battle
between good and bad yeast in our body goes on until the
day we die and we must continue to supplement with a
pro-biotic to keep things in check.

Thanks for your question
