    Press Release

Victim of Terror Bombing Urges Legal Action
in San Francisco Case Linked to Bill Ayers

Contact: Bill Mayer news@pipelinenews.org Office: 925-689-9492 Cell: 925-212-5353

In his first public statement about the on-going investigation of the 1970 terror bombing that claimed the life of fellow police officer Sgt. Brian V. McDonnell,  retired San Francisco Police Officer Ronald Martin, who was injured in the blast, is expressing support for a high-profile campaign to finally bring charges in the case. In a statement that will be released at a San Francisco news conference on Thursday, April 23, Martin declares:
"There is no statute of limitations on murder, and I believe that federal authorities should work more closely with those on the local and state levels to make sure justice is done in this case. That is why I want to support the effort of Cliff Kincaid and his America's Survival, Inc. organization to focus public attention on this matter..."
The complete text of the statement (Ronald Martin is retired and living out of state and will not personally attend) will be released at a 12:30 p.m. news conference on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the Marriott Courtyard San Francisco Downtown, 299 Second Street, in the Rincon Hill room. It is sponsored by the Campaign for Justice for Victims of Weather Underground Terrorism, a project of America's Survival, Inc. www.usasurvival.org

The San Francisco Police Officers Association issued a statement in support of this effort when a similar news conference was held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on March 12.

While he wants to see justice done, Martin says in the statement that he is worried that "political considerations stemming from President Obama's personal relationships with Weather Underground members Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn could prove to be a complicating factor in going forward in the Park Station bombing case."

Various reports, including the sworn testimony of former FBI informant Larry Grathwohl, implicate Ayers and Dohrn in the bombing. Grathwohl and retired San Francisco Police Officer Jim Pera, one of the first on the scene of the bombing, will join Kincaid and be speaking at the April 23 event.

    For America's Survival,

    Cliff Kincaid, President
