Search Engine
Tips - Submit your website correctly to
the FREE search engines and directories. NOTE: It is
best to have your website optimized prior to
submitting.
It is probable that 80% or more of your site traffic
will be generated from the likes of Google,
Yahoo, MSN and
AOL. You’ve spent
hours creating the perfect website, crafting content
and optimizing for the search engines. Don’t use
automated submissions or software for submitting your
website(s) to the top search engines and directories.
It’s not worth the risk.
For example, when submitting to the Open
Directory you must precisely select the category
into which your site fits. A simple software program
will lack the flexibility to achieve such precision.
Also, search portals like AltaVista have included
submission features to prevent automated
submissions.

For some of the lesser known, smaller search engines
and directories, however, using automated submission
forms, like that found at iNeedHits.com,
won’t hurt your efforts. Dream
Submit has a good list of additional, small
