Upcoming French Events:
- Journées européennes du Patrimoine (European Heritage Days): This two-day event is held every September throughout Europe; this year it takes place on September 16th and 17th. The basic idea is that Europe gets to show off its architectural heritage. Most public monuments are open free of charge and many private ones are either free of charge or offer a reduced rate. If you are anywhere in Europe, don\'t miss it! You often will get a chance to see buildings that are not habitually open to the public.
Vendange
It\'s that time of year again, time to do a little back breaking
work, in this case the Vendange - picking grapes. We
should be picking grapes on the weekend of the 16th and 17th, at
my brother in law\'s winery - Domaine de l'Echelette in
Burgundy.
Normally grapes are harvested by tractor but this year my brother
in law wants to increase the use of grapes to make Crémant de
Bourgogne - Champagne from Burgundy. Grapes used to make
Crémant need to be picked by hand. Using a tractor will
damage the grapes. So this year an all point bulletin was put out
for help. It promises to be a fun but tiring weekend.

Real Estate
For anyone looking to buy property in Paris or the Cote D\'Azur I\'ve found a French registered Real Estate agent who speaks perfect English! His name is Leo O\'Brien and he\'s originally from Ireland. His agency is called French Homes Direct and it\'s in the 8th district of Paris. He has two web sites, one for residential property - French Homes Direct and another for Leasebacks and Buy to Lets - My Investment in France. Leo knows all the ins and outs of French real estate and can help with finding a mortgage if needed.
