Tom the "Toolman" writes about us
:-)
A
little background and then the letter
from Tom :-) For a couple months now Tom
the "Toolman" had been at war with a
hacker breaking into his server and
putting lots of undesirable things on his
server which was not only causing Tom
lots of grief but his clients too as
functions they were trying to access
including links and other things would
not work or would not work
correctly.
Tom
was made aware of the problem by his
dedicated server provider and they could
not stop this hacker and kept threatening
to shut Tom's server off and actually
shut off parts of it at one
point.
The
next step by the provider was to tell Tom
they could not help him because he was
not on a "Managed" server - that he was
on an unmanaged server and therefore it
was his problem.
So
the next step is Tom upgrades his
Dedicated Server Plan to Managed which of
course costs a lot more money, and they
then tell him that his sites come up and
they are not helping anymore without
being paid even more money.
Well
something had to be done before Tom was
put out of business ..... Tom writes
.....
The
problem with people getting to the
website via my
hyperlinks should be cleared up
now...
I got a professional on the job and he
fixed the issue big
time... Thanks to Joseph Anderson of
AECNU Internet
and Computers, your help is much
appreciated...
If you don't get your unlimited hosting
package from me then
I highly recommend Joe for your hosting
needs... I host my
own social network there so you can rest
assured I know
what I am talking about first
hand...
Thank you Tom the
"Toolman"!
Secure
your Computer or pay the
price!
Though
in the article above Tom the "Toolman"
was referring to us securing his server,
PC's are open to attacks too and need to
be secured or risk the possible
catastrophe of key logging to identity
theft.
The
recent report from the independent
Malware Research Group tests many
different Anti Virus and Anti Spyware
programs and the results are in with us
being
Vipre fans for anti-virus
protection,
passing all tests as well as a few other
products. We wrote here about Vipre in
May when we quit using AVG and went to
Vipre.
AVG
and other well known Anti Virus products
failed the test and leave your computer
open to attack and unsecured as
indicated.
The
table below is an excerpt of the recent
tests from the independent
Malware Research Group and the whole
test and its circumstances may be
