Greedy Marketers do NOT
care
We do NOT
promote any
script or software that others
create unless it has passed tests
on two of our servers - PHP 4 and
PHP 5 (when we create
software we make sure from the
beginning that it works on both
configurations.)
This helps to insure our clients
will not fall victim to those
pushing garbage software or
scripts, or buggy software so bad
it is useless.
As we recently experienced and
can attest to the fact most
marketers do not give a damb
whether or not what they are
selling to you works on your
system or not.
This past weekend was a perfect
example of this.
We purchased this software and
immediately installed it on our
PHP 4 server to see if it works
.....
The software did not give any
specs that it worked on any
certain version or what
conditions it does work
under.
Not only does it not work on our
configuration, it gives all kinds
of errors and claims things that
are not true.
Here is exactly what
transpired:
Purchased at 02-04-10 at 6:59 PM
EEST
Spent the next few hours trying
to debug it before promoting it
which is our normal
protocol.
Submitted a support ticket at
02-04-10 at 10:24 PM EEST Ticket
ID Number 12
Here are just some of the
problems:
I am so happy that I have NOT
promoted this product yet due to
the multiple errors/problems it
has.
1) every time I run the full scan
manually it tells me that their
are two virus's and it has
disinfected two - well if it
disinfected 2, how come during
the next scan a few moments later
their are two virus's
again?
2) when I try to do the manual
scan, custom folders, I get
"Parse error: syntax error,
unexpected '&', expecting
T_VARIABLE or '$' in
/home/aecnuorg/wwwroot/aecnu.org/
webserverguardav/addfolders.php(7)
: eval()'d code on line 2"
3) When I try to download the
scan logs I get the following
error? Parse error: syntax error,
unexpected T_STRING, expecting
T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or
T_VAR or '}' in
/home/aecnuorg/wwwroot/aecnu.org/
webserverguardav/createzipfile.php(7)
: eval()'d code on line 1 Fatal
error: Cannot instantiate
non-existent class: createzipfile
in
/home/aecnuorg/wwwroot/aecnu.org/
webserverguardav/downloadlog.php(7)
: eval()'d code on line 2
4) How come during the full scan
it tells scanned 7 folders when
there are far more then 7
folders?
5) how come even in this help
desk back office that I am
writing this ticket within gives
an error message "Error No. 1064
occurred: You have an error in
your SQL syntax; check the manual
that corresponds to your MySQL
server version for the right
syntax to use near 's and it has
disinfected two - well if it
disinfected 2, how come during
the nex' at line 1 Warning:
mysql_num_rows(): supplied
argument is not a valid MySQL
result resource in
/home/wsguard/public_html/support/ajax_process.php
on line 237 No Match Found.
please continue ....."
6) why would I consider promoting
this product with all these
problems?
Did you see number 5 above, they
even have problems with there own
help desk!
Meanwhile waiting on their reply
to my ticket, I see many other
marketers promoting this product.
So I write them and ask them if
they have it installed
yet?
The most common answer:
Uh ..... no
not yet, I had this virus last year
and it happened to me so I have not
installed it yet but I am promoting
it.
Obviously these particular people
do not give a damb about their
own reputation or their care
about their clients. They did not
take the time to even check it
out before slinging it out on
their list hoping to make the
bucks not caring if it works or
not.
As a matter
of fact, we have yet to receive a
reply from any of them that
actually tried it. NOT
ONE!
Well as the story goes, two days
later, 02-06-10 12:43 AM EEST, we
finally get a reply to our
ticket.
and I quote:
Hi Joseph! Please send to us what
hosting are you using. All this
problems could happens if you
don't have the
compress-uncompress functions in
your php. Currently are more than
100 users using the product
without these bugs. Many of them
use xxxxxxxxxx as a hosting
company. We always recommend it!
But we want to work with you to
solve the trouble in your
hosting. Please provide us the
name and url of the hosting. Best
regards
OK so they recommend xxxxxxxxxx -
then why did they not say in the
sales pitch that it only runs on
sites hosted on
xxxxxxxxxx?
This is
Bullshit. It must be server
configuration that is the key not a
certain provider.
Oh yes, we want to move all 142
of our web sites on to xxxxxxxxxx
to be able to run their software
- absolutely absurd.
They also tell
"all
this problems could happens if
you don't have the
compress-uncompress functions in
your php"
Why was this not included in the
sales pitch or sales page?
Needless to say I replied
immediately, sending them the URL
they needed to see our PHP 4
servers complete
configuration.
Since that time they KNOW their
is a problem with some
configurations, but they keep on
pitching it (we received two more
pitches from the maker alone) as
if nothing is wrong - up to this
point stealing from those whom do
not host with xxxxxxxxxx or more
accurately do not have their
server configured to run this
particular script since they KNOW
there is a problem.
We have not and will not pitch
this product until our ticket is
resolved by their people. We
figure that if they cannot fix it
or take forever to fix it, this
is how our clients are going to
be treated and we will not put up
with it nor facilitate this
Bullshit!
