Bull Shit!
This past week we had noticed the
tons of marketers touting the Host
Gator ads about Unlimited Hosting
for $4.96 and it being on sale for
half price at $2.48 or something to
that effect.
If you go to the Host
Gator Web Site you will see many
different plans available
too.
Cool - but if it is
unlimited for $5 then why would
there be any other hosting
plans?
Right?
If it is unlimited what
more could one want? There is no
need for anything else.
Because the fact of the
matter is - it is just another BS
marketing BIG lie.
What they do is use the
aggregate model.
They have a specific
amount of space and when that
space fills up with accounts,
they choose the largest one
commonly referred to at this
point as Host Hogs and tell them
to upgrade or go - freeing up the
space for those web site accounts
that are often less then 50 MB's
protecting their profit margin
and keeping the scheme
going.
We seen the same BS
applied years ago to Dialup
Internet Access - the fact then
was that the unspoken limit was
300 hours a month but it was
advertised as unlimited.
Those that went over the
unspoken so called BIG Lie of
unlimited access had their
accounts cancelled as being Port
Hogs.
You want unlimited
Hosting - go for it and upload a
Terabyte and see how fast your
account is cancelled or required
to upgrade. Faster then you can
shake a stick.
Why it is unlimited?
Because it is a marketing Lie
that is why.
