Analysis:
Los Angeles is in deep trouble. The
situation has gotten so grim that the city
controller says L.A. to Run Out of Cash in
a Month.
Los Angeles will run out of cash on May 5,
city Controller Wendy Greuel said today in
a release in which she requested a $90
million transfer of reserve funds to pay
bills.
"The question I have been asked most often
during the budget crisis is, 'When will the
city run out of money?" Greuel said in the
e-mailed release. "Unfortunately, we
finally have the answer..."

This week
on my Fox Business program, I ask the
question: What's a "libertarian"?
I was once a "liberal." In college, I was
taught that government would solve poverty,
if we would just allow those wise planners
in Washington to take enough money from the
rich so that government could work its
magic. Then as a reporter, I saw that magic
didn't work. The central planners just made
life worse, miring us down in bureaucracy,
wasting billions and taking away individual
freedom.
Now, I'm often called a "conservative"
because I support free markets and limited
government. But that seems odd, because I
also oppose prohibition on drugs,
prostitution, gambling, gay marriage.
Conservatives typically support
prohibition.

Tom Washington:
Kudos to Dr. Jack Cassell. The Orlando,
Florida-based physician is taking a stand
against Obamacare.
The message taped to the entrance of his
practice reads: "If you voted for Obama,
seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to
your health care begin right now, not in
four years."
Dr. Cassell says he's not refusing to treat
patients - "that would be unethical" - he's
just asking those who helped Congress pass
the healthcare monstrosity to kindly find
another doctor.
His own "representative" in Congress - Rep.
Alan Grayson - has labeled Cassell a racist
for this move. We'll let you decide for
yourself... but it's nice to see some folks
are willing to take a stand against out of
control government.

Nearly all of the U.S. senatorial
positions were categorized as
inefficient redundancies.

WASHINGTON - In an effort to reduce
wasteful spending and eliminate non-vital
federal services, the U.S. government
announced plans this week to cut its
long-standing senator program, a move it
says will help save more than $300
billion each year.
... "Now more than ever, we must
eliminate needless spending wherever
possible," President Obama said at
a press conference Wednesday. "When we sat
down to go over our annual budget, we asked
ourselves, where can we safely trim back?
What programs can we do away with without
negatively impacting the American people?
Which bloated and ineffective institutions
can we no longer justify having
around?"
