PIONEERS FINAL HOME REGULAR SEASON MEET OF 2010 SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 19TH, 7:00PM

DENTON, Texas (March 17) -The Texas Woman's University gymnastics team will host their final REGULAR SEASON home event of the 2010 season on Friday, March 19 when they welcome the University of New Hampshire to Kitty Magee Arena for what should be a highly-competitive duel meet. TWU is undefeated at home this year.

Friday night's meet will also be the Pioneers 3rd annual Short People Appreciation Night. All fans shorter than the life-sized signs of TWU gymnast Kristie Costa (5') will be admitted FREE.

"That's going to fun," said Kudlac of the promotion to recognize vertically challenged spectators. "It's something kind of creative and a little different. I know people are going to get a kick out of the signs we had made of Kristie."

At the conclusion of the competition, the Pioneers will conduct a Senior Night ceremony to recognize eight of their senior gymnasts, Kelsey Nixon, Michelle Graves, Keri Miller, Alexa Brennan and Leslie Pladson, for their exceptional TWU careers.

"I expect that to be pretty emotional," Kudlac said. "These fiveseniors have really meant a lot to this program over the last four years. It's hard to believe that this will be their last home meet. They are a very special group indeed!"

Big Al's Totally Twisted Balloons will also be on hand in the Magee Arena lobby to entertain children and adults alike with his unique balloon shapes.

Seating at Kitty Magee Arena is by general admission only. Adult tickets (ages 17 and up) for TWU gymnastics meets cost $7.00 while tickets for non-TWU students (ages 7-16) are $4.00 apiece. Children 6 and under, TWU students, faculty and staff are admitted free to all TWU home athletic events with a valid TWU ID. Additionally, TWU faculty and staff will be granted three free admissions per home event for guests of their choice (excluding students in grades 9-12).

Next week, TWU will be hosting the Mid-wets conference championships on March 27th at 6:00pm.  TWU, SE Missouri, Centenary College, Illinois State & UNiv of Chicago Illinois will battle for the 2010 conference title!
