Nothing stands even close to GetResponse.com when it comes to personalizing your messages.
All you have to do to give your messages that unique twist is to add token words
to your message(s) subject/body. We have organized the token words in the following categories:
Basic Merge[[firstname]] will print your prospect's first name (i.e. 'Hi [[firstname]]' will print 'Hi John!', if
your prospect's first name is John).
[[name]] will print your prospect's whole name (i.e. 'Mr. [[name]]' will print [[Mr. John Wayne]]', if your
prospect's name is John Wayne).
[[email]] will print your prospect's e-mail address (i.e. 'Your e-mail address is [[email]]' will print
'Your e-mail address is derek324@AOL.com', if your prospect's e-mail address is derek324@AOL.com.
[[remove]] will print removal URL, which can be used in your own unsubscribe instructions (i.e.
'If you wish to unsubscribe, click <A HREF="[[remove]]">here</A>.').
NOTICE: AutoResponder sometimes fails to extract first name of your prospect, as people
sometimes call
their e-mail accounts not by their names, but by their companies' names. So if your prospect was named 'Gizmo
Industry',
[[firstname]] would extract 'Gizmo'. Even though there is no way around this problem, our statistics show that
prospects usually call themselves with their 'extractable' personal names instead of their company names.
Advanced Merge[[myname]] will print the name of the autoresponder owner. Many of our users won't need to
use this token word, but if you run a MLM operation and/or you require your downline to pre-load your message
set,
this will be very useful.
[[myemail]] will print the e-mail address of the autoresponder owner. Used similarly as [[myname]].
[[num]] will print the number at the end of the autoresponder name. This is another feature very helpful
if
you have a downline and want to track your downline's performance. Example: if the autoresponder name is
member32412, [[num]] will print
32412.
[[ref]] - this token word is used in association with a WWW form.
Custom Merge[[custom_anything_you_want]] will print the information collected using the AutoResponder HTML Form in Managing Prospects to collect information from your prospects. You can create up to 10 personalized variables. Naming a variable is as simple as typing in the description of the information being collected such as phone, company name, etc. You can collect any information from your prospect that will be helpful to you such as phone and fax numbers, company names, number of employees, etc.
When placing your personalized variables in your message you must us the brackets [[ ]]. The word
custom followed by an underscore _ must also be used. If you have placed spaces in your variable names the underscore _ must be used instead of the spaces when creating your message.
Predefined Merge[[pre_variable]] will print the value of variable predefined on Prospects / Variables page.
Example:
You create a predefined variable 'url' with the value of
'http://www.YourSite.com'. You can now use [[pre_url]]
in your messages. The system automatically changes
[[pre_url]] to 'http://www.YourSite.com' when sending
mail. If you ever need to change your website address,
you just change the predefined variable here. You don't
have to change all occurences of 'http://www.YourSite.com'
to 'http://www.YourNewSite.com'!
Date MergeImagine this situation:
Paul sends an e-mail to your autoresponder today. He receives an autoresponse instantly.
It reads "If you order within five days, you will get a free bonus". Wouldn't it be better
to say "If you order by , , you will
get a free bonus"?
With our powerful Date Merge functionality you'd simply write "If you order by [[date long+5]] you will get a
free bonus".
You could also tell your prospects when you are going to follow up with them again (i.e. "Please study this
information carefully. I will contact you again on , ,
to see if you have any questions"). When you follow up with them as you promised, you will earn
credibility and build trust with them. And remember that credibility and trust are key to your
success.
