Messages
If you wish to edit your "Messages" settings please go to >> Campaigns >> Campaign Settings >> choose a campaign from your campaign list >> click "Messages".

You can easily switch to a different campaign by using the drop-down box on the right.
Here is what can be found on your "Messages" site:
1. From Filed
This is where your email messages will appear to be coming from, you need to enter your name and e-mail address into the boxes provided on the site.
![]() | Never use any @getresponse.com address or your account will not work! |
2. Reply-to Field
This is the email address where your subscriber's replies will be sent to. If the "Reply-To" address is the same as "From" address you do not need to enter the same data one more time, simply leave the "Reply-To" box empty.
![]() | Never use any @getresponse.com address or your account will not work! |
3. Special HTML/Plain Format
Once you have this feature enabled, your messages are delivered in a special unified format. If they are opened with an HTML-disabled email program, a Plain Text version will be shown instead. Please note that when using this special format, you can not preview nor influence the layout of the auto-generated message. A small percentage of email programs do not accept this special format, so we provide the option to disable it.
The double-format version can be generated automatically when you create your message. So when writing a Plain Text message, you can easily convert it to HTML, and vice versa.
Let's say you have created a Plain Text message and now you've decided that it would be worth having an HTML version with some color, formatting and links. GetResponse says, "No problem!" All you need to do is switch the Message Format to HTML Body, and click "Convert the existing Plain Text message to HTML" link.

This provides an easy and convenient way to see how each format looks before the message is sent. You're able to implement changes until you feel that the formatting of each message looks perfect.
If the email program is capable of displaying HTML, it will open the message saved in HTML. If your subscriber uses an e-mail program which does not support HTML, or is HTML disabled, they will receive the Plain Text version.
4. Set Up Click Tracking
This feature allows you to track click-throughs of your links. Once enabled, all of your links will be automatically converted to special tracking URLs, and click-throughs will be counted. You may view the click-through statistics on Statistics >> Performance Statistics site.

5. Change Character Encoding
The internet is an international place of business, that's why GetResponse provides you with a "Change Character Encoding" feature. Choose an encoding, and have your messages delivered in your language, and your specific character set. Thanks to this ability, you no longer need to use the universal character set UTF-8, or the common ISO 8859-1 (Latin) character set.
6. Compatibility Mode
Some email software, i.e. Eudora, is not compliant with modern Internet standards, such as supporting multiple character sets. Compatibility Mode retains compatibility with older email clients. Unless you experience issues with your email software, we recommend that this option is disabled, as it may cause issues with international character sets in some web-based email services.
7. Blog-Announce
Blog-Announce will link your campaign to your blog. As the result, your subscribers will instantly receive a notice whenever there is something new to be read in your blog. All you need to do to have it set is enter your Blog RSS URL into the box provided on the „Messages" settings site, choose the subscribers you wish to stay tuned with, and click on the "Save Settings" button.
8. Message Template Selection
If you do not wish to use templates when creating messages, you can disable the page containing message type selection, and be taken straight to the message editor.
